I've applied to 5 area schools (Sac State, Sac City, Sutter, ARC, and Sierra) I'm waiting and I can't help but to be anxious. I thought it'd be nice to know who has heard and when. Thank you!

I would really like to go to Humboldt, but getting through fast is more important for my family right now. I may try to do my RN to BSN there if life works out that way. I really like both the holistic program and the area in general, and was considering attending Humboldt even before I got interested in Nursing.
I hear you jess, time is of essence of most of us.
The thing is that it is getting harder and harder to get into somewhere.
All the schools are making it harder. 2 years ago it was easy to get into one of those BSN programs, but now...ooooweee!
You see, my father got sick and the nurses taking care of him were so mean and bad that we were in a way glad that he finally passed away and out of his misery at the hospital...anyway sad story..
That's when I really knew that I really really really to be a nurse and make a difference.
So, before I started taking my prereqs, I had a long conversation with the higher power. I told him that I would do whatever it takes, study day and night and all I asked him was to grant me 1 spot in a school somewhere, anywhere and that I would take it from there.
Jess, which school did you get accepted in? If you already have a bachelor you can go stright to earning a masters in nursing instead of a BSN.
So far Seems to me that everyone here got in somewhere. Wonderful.

I got into the Sac City Extended Campus program. I still have to take o-chem, so I couldn't have gotten into a BSN program for Spring anyways. That was my backup plan for fall.
I'd rather go straight to BSN since that is my eventual goal, but being finished 17 months from now vs. 2+ years from fall seems worth it, along with not having to move (I don't think I'd qualify at Sac State at this point - I think I have about 81 points).
I don't already have a Bachelor's. There are apparently ADN to MSN programs which don't seem to require a bachelor's, and I might end up taking that path, but I'm going to see what happens after the ADN first!

Humboldt is now only a 5 semester program...that means that you can get your ASN in four semester or your BSN in 5....is only one more semester for a higher degree too long for you?
I graduate from Humboldt in May 2009, my class was the last to be in the 6 semester program.

I wasn't trying to make a generalized statement about ADN vs. BSN. In my specific case, it really does make a difference.
If I were choosing between a typical 2 year ADN program and a 2.5 year BSN program starting at the same time, I'd choose the BSN program, but that's not the case. I'd be entering Humboldt Fall 2009 (as I haven't done o-chem yet), and I'd be finishing Fall 2011. As it is, I'm entering an ADN program in Spring 2009 and finishing Spring 2010 (accelerated ASN program - no summer break). So really, quite a bit of difference.

I did not know they had accelerated ASN. Sounds hard! did you already get accepted to this program? I know most ASN programs have 1+ year waiting lists
