Anyone in their 40's here?

I was just wondering if you find it harder to remember things now.

I'm sure there are a lot of people in their 40s here. Why do you ask?

I had to go back over some of your previous post to see if you were a

smart ellic teen or something, because this is a strange question.

But, No, I don't have a hard time remembering things. 40 is still young, IMO.

Geez, I'm not anywhere near being to the point of forgetfulness, at least, I hope not.

what was the question again?

I'm well past 40, 60 next year:sniff::eek:. If I don't take my bioidentical hormones (you can pry them out of my cold dead hands) and eat too much sugar, wheat, dairy...my brain goes mushy...well sometimes well beyond mush:stone.

Welcome to the world of aging...for years we put up with PMS and now in our "golden years" (who ever coined that phrase otta be shot) we deal with hair loss on our head and new hair everywhere else, crappy memory, wrinkles, celulite, weight gain just from passing by a piece of cake, aches and pains just from getting out of bed etc. OK now what was the question again:icon_roll.

47 and will be 48 soon.

The mind is slipping. I walk down the hall and can't remember what I was going to get. I'm asked a question and it takes 10 to 15 seconds before I can retrieve the answer from within my brain. Of course, I blame working a full time and part time job (60+ hours/week), working on my MSN, and a less than supportive husband (no help with housework, laundry, the last kid at home, grocery shopping, cooking, etc). Obviously, sleep is a luxury. My brain works better when it is rested.

On the other hand, maybe I am losing brain cells every time I tweeze a chin whisker! LOL!!!

I turned 45 on Wednesday and am getting ready to enter my last semester of an RN program. I am a better student than I ever was 20+ years ago, I retain what I read, I can keep endless multiple lists in my head and I can multi-task like nobody's business. I don't notice any decline in my memory; in fact, it seems better than ever. Maybe if my brain cells are dying, what I have gained in life-experience makes up for it.

I am 46 and yes things are harder to remember, but not enough to be alarmed. I think having perfect eyesight for the a major part of my life, and wearing reading glasses irritates more than anything. What I lack in memory I compensate in a strong foundation of organization. I will take any help from anyone or anything to keep me on the straight and narrow.

I'm a bit past the 40's . . . I'm 58. I don't have trouble remembering my book learning and such. I have the occasional "senior moment" where I rush to the Pyxis to get something, enter my access code, then . . . have no idea what I came to get!!:D:D:D

But, I know that if I return to the bedside, I'll remember . . . so I mentally return to the bedside and Voila!, I usually remember what I came for.

I am going to be 40 next year and I forget things now. Thank God for my i-phone and good old pen and paper. My husband and I use a white board in our kitchen to make note of what we need to remember. I heard that the cure for this is exercise and good eating habits. My Mother is doing puzzles because she heard on television that to keep a good memory is to keep it thinking. Well I did that all throughout nursing school and I still forget things occasionally. I feel like I'm rambling.......:uhoh3: Here is my 2 cents: we are so busy these days, I mean life is moving pretty fast, so we cannot possibly remember everything. I think it is normal...especially when you are busy. Ok, geesh I am done. Sorry guys.

Just turned 40 today.

I have been having a hard time remembering things since I had children.....

i dont think it is so much being 40+ as it is trying to just remember everything that is going on . . .
