If you have PR and have meet college requirements then I would say you have the same chance as anyone else

I don't think the chance is the same, canadian grads would be preferred, especially since the experience with IEN's hasn't been good in all healthregions. And the newgrads are struggling right now to find a job.
But it would be a little bit better already having PR than trying to find a employer willing to assist you through the process of work permit or PR.
There are changes happening to the Federal Skilled Workers list and it may result in nurses being removed which will make things a lot harder for people looking at this route for PR especially if not already in Canada with a work permit

Hi Friends
Anybody is getting checklist or eligibility from SRNA. Last 13 months I am waiting to hear from SRNA.
Chances for a job as an IEN are so poor right now, I wouldn't worry about the waiting time at all. Plus the experience in my health region is so poor, there would be an outcry if they would hire anymore applicants from outside Canada, especially the Philippines. The newgrads here are told they might have to go casual, no jobs for them.
why did you particularly say Philippines? that's discrimination

Racism is not allowed..Be fair to all....
If there college of RN's or the province has had issues with a certain country, and this has been documented in several places, then there will be reluctance to employ from that country. It is unfortunate that some issues have caused problems but if you really want to do it and you can gain experience working so you are bringing something to the table that should work in your favour.

There has been a large number of nurses from the Philippines hired by Saskatchewan in the last 18 months or so. The experience has not been quite as successful as it might have been due to the wide disparity in the quality of nursing education from one school to another there, nurses' performance not meeting expectations and perhaps to deficient screening on the part of the recruiters. There have been several instances where the persons hired were not as skilled as they were purported to be and were not able to function independently in Canada's system. I know personally at least 4 IENs with several years of experience who are not functioning at the same level as newly-graduated Canadian nurses. Whether this resulted from a rush to secure as many nurses as possible in a short time or from misrperesentation on the part of agencies representing the nurses, it's difficult to know. CBC News - Saskatchewan - Some Filipino nurses fired, more being hired There have been other examples of this sort of situation but none so Some of the issues have been purely cultural as Canadian society expects different things from its nurses than does Filipino society. 3 axed Filipino nurses seek reinstatement in Canadian health facility - Pinoy Abroad - GMANews.TV - Official Website of GMA News and Public Affairs - Latest Philippine News
It is neither discrimination nor racism to point out easily verified issues.
