Hi everyone! Finally, after waiting for a year, I have received my checklist. I have just complied with the additional requirements they are asking and hopefully I will receive a favorable result next month. Are applicants from the Philippines really required to take SEC?
Yes if the college deems it necessary you will have to do SEC, similarly do those from other countries like the UK, US etc. It all goes on your transcripts
@bobantom and tukmol: Thanks.I have received their acknowledgment email with reference number on May 23 last year, and they are asking for a clearer copy of my birth cert, verification of my license and hours for rn employment.. I have followed up prior to their email for additional requirements and informed them that I have waited for a year already. After two days or three, I received a response with the checklist. :)
@silverdragon, I guess I have to take SEC too because graduates from the US have required to do so. Can you share with me a thread for SEC application and skilled migrant? I am on my next step. Thanks

SEC varies depending on what is required.
couple threads discussing SEC are

Hi Janfrn, if SRNA invited me to take SEC but I prefer to take in other province, for example in Ontario, would they allow me?
No, that's not going to be permitted. Each province has their own method of assessing competence and their own standards for registration. You must first apply for registration in the province where you wish to work then have your eligibility assessed. If your education transcripts aren't adequately detailed or you're missing some clinical or didactic hours, then you'll be required to have your competence assessed before being permitted to write the CRNE. The process is not interchangeable and there is no interprovincial movement of applicants. Each province requires its own application. If you don't want to live and work in Saskatchewan, don't waste your money or their time by applying there... apply where you want to go.
