Anyone received PVAMU's acceptance letter?

Hello, I just received a packet from Prairie View stating that I have "Provisional" admission to the school, so from what I understand is that all I need to do is meet all the final requirements and I'm good to go. Coincidentally, I just found that it came in the mail after I finished taking the NET for UT. The only thing that is bothering me is that I received the packet already opened. You can clearly tell that it's been pried opened. I know I'm just being paranoid, but I've worked so hard for anyone to mess with such important documents. So anyone who may have received this very packet, can you please put my mind at ease by telling me all the contents of the packet?

I am waiting on admission letter to PVAMU nusring school too for Spring 09'. That is good that you got your provisional letter. So I assuming that letters are starting to go out. Do that basically mean that you need to finish this semester of classes and submit those grades? Can't wait to find out if I am accepted or not! I prayed about it and now it is in God's hands!

:yeah: Congrats Mbln, it means you got in. :yeah:

I got mine as well last week, and the crazy thing is, I thought someone opened it too. I think they got a bad batch of envelopes with ineffective adhesive. I hope nothing fell out. I just sent out the 5 items due Oct 31st, still waiting to hear from TWU.

I thought I was the only one--some sort of bad omen or something. I emailed PVAMU about it and asked if everything was accounted for, and so far, so good. I actually sent that packet to the Admissions Counselor on Tuesday, the very day I went for my drug test.

I didn't attach the FAFSA application to that SDS application because I don't think I'll be qualified either way. I hope that doesn't count against me. I did send it in!

Still need to get my CPR card and my physical.

I'm waiting for TWU too! You'd think we'd hear from them before PVAMU since their deadline was earlier.

Thank you for lessening my worries. Still worried until I'm actually enrolled as an actual student.

Please post in the forum if you get yours too, so we can compare notes. I wonder if everyone received theirs packets opened.

Yes, you got to forward all the classes you've taken. I think PVAMU assumes that you have finished all your prerequisites by this stage. The letter states that Fall 2008 transcripts need to be forwarded to the Admissions Counsellor. I don't know whether that means you send it with the 5 items that they asked for in the letter or not.

Good luck! I hope you get yours soon.

on waiting list for spring 09'. so will see! anything is possible

anyone knows how the waiting list work? like how many on it? also how many they usually accept per semester? also is there any good chance i get in for next semester off the waiting list? trying and praying to try to stay open-minded.

Sorry to bother you, but you're the only person that I know of that received the "Provisional" letter from the College of Nursing.

Did you by any chance just receive the acceptance letter from PVAMU? I received mine just this Saturday, November 1st, which is way past the October deadline.

I know I need to be accepted to the university first before I even get accepted to the College of Nursing, but I didn't think it'd come this late. I applied to both at the same time, but who knew I would hear first from the College of Nursing before the university?!

I've contacted whoever I can for help, but no one has responded. I've just forwarded whatever I could just now.

Please, tell me I'm not the only one!

I just received my regular admission letter too from PVAMU also. The CON might have known already that you would be accepted for regular admissions that is why they extended admittance into their specific program.

If you did get accepted into another school then are you suppose to still let the previous school that you got accepted into know that you will be accepting admissions at another school even if it is after the deadline for accepting your admissions into the first school your heard from. I see PVAMU CON acceptance deadline was the 31rst of Oct but i also see that other schools just mailed out their letters. so that mean people will probably change their mind after the deadline date to accept admissions for PVAMU CON.

i actually received an acceptance letter to my first-choice school just yesterday. i don't really know when i should inform PVAMU that i am leaning towards my first choice. i guess we need to inform the admissions counsellor, ms. anderson, but i want a something to fall back on. i mean, to me, i don't think i'm actually accepted to the school until i have my class schedule in my hands and wearing the uniform.

I spoke with Dr. Smith and Ms. Anderson they won't tell anyone anything. They are waiting for spots to become available when students with provisional acceptance decline admissions to PVAMU. As seats become available you should hear from PVAMU. If you have been accepted to your first school of choice; obviously TWU then please give up your admission so they become available to other eager students.
