Anyone received PVAMU's acceptance letter?

U.S.A. Texas

Hello, I just received a packet from Prairie View stating that I have "Provisional" admission to the school, so from what I understand is that all I need to do is meet all the final requirements and I'm good to go. Coincidentally, I just found that it came in the mail after I finished taking the NET for UT. The only thing that is bothering me is that I received the packet already opened. You can clearly tell that it's been pried opened. I know I'm just being paranoid, but I've worked so hard for anyone to mess with such important documents. So anyone who may have received this very packet, can you please put my mind at ease by telling me all the contents of the packet?

I spoke with Dr. Smith and Ms. Anderson they won't tell anyone anything. They are waiting for spots to become available when students with provisional acceptance decline admissions to PVAMU. As seats become available you should hear from PVAMU. If you have been accepted to your first school of choice; obviously TWU then please give up your admission so they become available to other eager students.

I asked this because i am one pf the waiting list students who wants to go to PVAMU and I see others who have more then one choice and I don't. I do think they should go ahead and let PVAMU know if they are going to another school instead of waiting to last minute cause after the 21rst of November we , waiting list people, have to reapply.

i'm declining the admission. i hope one of you get my spot. sorry, guys for even waffling about my decision to accept or not.

Thanks. At least someone on the waiting list will have a chance. Good luck to all starting next semester! Work hard but remember to have a life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

which pre-reqs do you still need?

That could be the reason why you're on the waiting list. Because rootie had about the same GPA and NET scores as you do.

if you anything from PV or anyone else about PV info email me at [email protected] Thank you and here's a email from a current PV student

Hi

PV gives admission based on qualifications and early admissions. There are lots of qualified students that apply each semester, some who are placed on waiting list like you are, are considered first the following semester. Also students who go to PV that is the main campus are also given first dibs in regards to getting into the nursing program. My advice is not to loose hope, give Ms Anderson a call , let her know who you are. So when a student who was giving admission decides not to go to PV you will may be consisdered first. I think PV is great school, that graduates great nurses. I hope i could help all the best and hope to see you next year.

i am in micro, a&p II lab, and stat now. making A's in all classes. I really don't like bugging Mrs. Anderson and and Dr. Smith! I know they get called all the time. If not next semester then the following semester is fine! I heard so many were on the waiting list like 200, so i am going to reapply in december. Thanks for your help Saneef! I can tall you will be a great nurse. So helpful and kind! :saint:

You really need to finish all prereqs before you even apply. As for me, I also had 3 letters of recommendations--one from volunteering in a hospital; one from a professor; and from a nurse manager from the floor I volunteered in.

It's not stated anywhere on the application process. I just happened to stumbled upon a form listing out all the recommendations on the PV website, but it meant for PV students already enrolled to the university. I thought it wouldn't hurt to go for it. I volunteered several months in that hospital and I had to retake A&PI to get my letter of recommendation from a professor.

I hope this info helps.

If you don"t mind me asking, did they have a certain day for you all to register for you all classes at Pvamu CON?

My friend got a call from PV asking him if he was still interested. Did you recieve a similar call? or any other contact from PV?

yes i did get a call from Dr. Smith on Wednesday too asking if was still interested. so i am praying and hoping that i get selected. i wonder how many they are going to get and how many people they called. but we will see. it would be great to start next semester.

let me know if your friend get contacted

letters go out this week for people accepted off of the wait list. so let your friend know to look for something by the end of the week
