Hello, I just received a packet from Prairie View stating that I have "Provisional" admission to the school, so from what I understand is that all I need to do is meet all the final requirements and I'm good to go. Coincidentally, I just found that it came in the mail after I finished taking the NET for UT. The only thing that is bothering me is that I received the packet already opened. You can clearly tell that it's been pried opened. I know I'm just being paranoid, but I've worked so hard for anyone to mess with such important documents. So anyone who may have received this very packet, can you please put my mind at ease by telling me all the contents of the packet?
I asked this because i am one pf the waiting list students who wants to go to PVAMU and I see others who have more then one choice and I don't. I do think they should go ahead and let PVAMU know if they are going to another school instead of waiting to last minute cause after the 21rst of November we , waiting list people, have to reapply.
i'm declining the admission. i hope one of you get my spot. sorry, guys for even waffling about my decision to accept or not.
if you anything from PV or anyone else about PV info email me at [email protected] Thank you and here's a email from a current PV student
Hi
PV gives admission based on qualifications and early admissions. There are lots of qualified students that apply each semester, some who are placed on waiting list like you are, are considered first the following semester. Also students who go to PV that is the main campus are also given first dibs in regards to getting into the nursing program. My advice is not to loose hope, give Ms Anderson a call , let her know who you are. So when a student who was giving admission decides not to go to PV you will may be consisdered first. I think PV is great school, that graduates great nurses. I hope i could help all the best and hope to see you next year.
i am in micro, a&p II lab, and stat now. making A's in all classes. I really don't like bugging Mrs. Anderson and and Dr. Smith! I know they get called all the time. If not next semester then the following semester is fine! I heard so many were on the waiting list like 200, so i am going to reapply in december. Thanks for your help Saneef! I can tall you will be a great nurse. So helpful and kind!
You really need to finish all prereqs before you even apply. As for me, I also had 3 letters of recommendations--one from volunteering in a hospital; one from a professor; and from a nurse manager from the floor I volunteered in.
It's not stated anywhere on the application process. I just happened to stumbled upon a form listing out all the recommendations on the PV website, but it meant for PV students already enrolled to the university. I thought it wouldn't hurt to go for it. I volunteered several months in that hospital and I had to retake A&PI to get my letter of recommendation from a professor.
I hope this info helps.
