]Hey everyone, I'm new to this group. I'm 20 years old, and I am hoping to become an LPN within the next two years, and then go for my RN. I live on Long Island, and I'm trying to stay local for school. Does anyone know if any LPN courses are due to start this Spring? Thanks

I don't know of any starting this Spring but you can check out VEEB.org in Uniondale for next September. Sorry, but I thought I'd post since you mentioned you wanted to stay loca.

Monroe's entrance exam for the LPN program is the TEAS 2.0 and the NLN pre-PN exam. It costs $100 to do both test and it is being given on the 29th and 30th of this month in the gymnasium. So if you anyone is interested they need to call the school ASAP to sign up cuz they only give those tests once a year at the school.
Also Monroe is starting their LPN-RN program in the Spring.

Try BOCES I think they have two in LI. I tested for the one in Northport and passed....I didn't attend because the commute was going to be over two hours. VEEB is also good to look up not sure when they are starting. The hours there are really good. Feel free to PM me if you need more info.

I believe Farmingdale has an LPN program too. If you want to go to Western Suffolk BOCES, you should sign up for the pre entrance exam right now, to possibly get in for the spring.
Thanks for the replies everyone. :) I am going to sign up at western suffolk BOCES for the entrance exam. I appreciate the help! If anyone has some tips about the exam or the course please let me know :)
When I took it, it was the NET exam, when they send out the information, it will probably tell you what exam it is. I know they did offer pre entance exam course, to help you with the math and reading, it was either online or at Northport.
I did graduate from the program 3 years, it was tough and stressful, but it was imho a good program.

Are you in the Monroe LPN program now? I took the exams ($175) on the 29/30th.
