Anyone going to PHCC (Pasco-Hernando Community College) for pre-req's or NS?

Published

I am finishing up my pre-req's and would love to see if anyone is in the same boat as I am or even in nursing school. Any advice would be much appreciated! :D

Sorry! I was just going through my schedule this past semester and forgot that Ethics is a program requirement, not a pre-requisite. My bad.

PS I am making super fast replies because I have my e-mail up at work and today is a slow patient day!

I ended up double checking myself. I can imagine that scaring people. You might want to edit the post!:)

I can't, I'm not a premium member :( I'm thinking of calling admission so that I can get more info, but I'm afraid that might make the rumor mill even worse...

MJ, I was able to edit my 2nd post and I'm not a premium member.

So I talked to the lady from the testing office because she was at the library and she told me she saw alot of low Teas scores this last week because everyone is soooo nervous and not doing as well since today was the deadline. I talked with a handful of students and most have gotten 86ish for their composite score and 4.0 GPA. Very discouraging for me but good news for those of you who scored higher! I did hear there are a few 90's but not many.

You can edit your post as a non-premium member as long as its within 5 minutes of your original posting.

As for the TEAS scores, I am surprised that you met so many people in the mid to high 80's! That makes me even more nervous because I hadn't heard of too many people cracking the 80 mark...

I think the first time people take the Teas they usually get in the 70's but then they improve their scores the second and third time. I know at least 5 people personally in some of my classes who have around an 85.5 to 87 Teas scores and maybe 6 random people I've spoken with in the halls that have 86's. I really was hoping for a 90 to secure my chances but oh well it is what it is.

I just took the TEAS today at the West Campus and they were so busy the took people to the library. It was the first time I took it and did well on the Reading portion, 92.5, but the science wasn't what I was expecting at all. I was expecting microbiology or anatomy but it wasn't that at all! I never took physics and couldn't tell you how to find velocity or what type of plate tectonics that diagram was if my life depended on it. I didn't decide until this morning I was going to apply so that's my fault for not studying. I guess as everyone else here on the board we shall see. Good luck to everyone!

Can I be honest with you all for a minute? Now this may be the angst and the stress talking (no, it IS the angst and the stress) so please give me a little leeway. But you all with 4.0s or near 4.0s who have TEAS scores in the high 80s are really starting to grate on me. There is NO WAY you guys wont get in - you know it, I know it, all of us on here know it. Why you are stressing and complaining and fretting is beyond me and it doesn't make those of us who really DO need to stress, feel any better. :sniff: Maybe you are setting yourself up for failure so that you can be pleasantly surprised. I don't know. You will get an acceptance letter, so simmer down please.

*steps of soap box* :twocents:

Sorry to be so ******. Commence flaming.

Hahaha, right on Chris!

Is anyone applying to the LPN night program?

manda- i applied to both the night and day programs. (LPN)

Chris, I'm really sorry if I stressed you out. :(

I was only being honest with the info I've heard in the past week. I really think you have a great shot with your own very high Teas score! So I guess I won't bring up anymore info as to not make us all more anxious then we already are.
