  1. I apologize if you were offended by my comment. I have been applying to nursing programs for a while and I have a very similar GPA as you in the pre-req. My intent was to let you know there are other options out there. If this is something you really want I do recommend looking at different avenues. It will help keep your options open. I was very close minded whenever I started and I wanted the RN program and nothing less and look at me now still trying years later. Don't get down if you have to keep trying but do look at other programs as well, there are a lot of options.
  2. What the heck is PHCC looking at for the LPN program now? Is it the overall score on the TEAS or the reading and math like what they use to use for the NET? I don't think PHCC has anymore students on the wait list. As for as the LPN when I was accepted as an alternate for the Jan 2010 program back in 2007 they told me that was one of the last semesters they were using wait list for the LPN. I do believe the RN stopped taking waitlist a semester or 2 before the LPN.
  3. Honestly it is what it is. You've done your best and there's no reason to worry over it. On a side note PHCC is getting better with allowing more people into their programs because their waiting lists have dwindled down a lot. I started going there in 2006 and graduated in 2008 still waiting to get into nursing. I was put on a waiting list for Jan. 2010 LPN in 2007 and said no way because it was too long of a wait and I wanted the RN program. Stupid me. =) It will all be OK, you'll see.
  4. I think it will be pretty hard to get into a program with a 3.4. I know PHCC is super selective. Trying maybe SPC wouldn't be a bad idea but if you are not a resident it will be pretty hard to get in there too. If you figure something else out please post it. :)
  5. I just took the TEAS today at the West Campus and they were so busy the took people to the library. It was the first time I took it and did well on the Reading portion, 92.5, but the science wasn't what I was expecting at all. I was expecting microbiology or anatomy but it wasn't that at all! I never took physics and couldn't tell you how to find velocity or what type of plate tectonics that diagram was if my life depended on it. I didn't decide until this morning I was going to apply so that's my fault for not studying. I guess as everyone else here on the board we shall see. Good luck to everyone!
  6. Eh I've not heard much about that program and I know MPM is the best. I'd like to learn from and work with the best even if it means waiting a little bit longer. I appreciate the information though, its always been helpful!
  7. Nice, hopefully that will happen again. I don't want anything bad to happen to anyone but I really want to get a spot.
  8. Really? Do you know how much notice they got before the program start date? I still have my fingers crosses they will be able to get me in there sometime. It feels like I've been at this applying thing forever! I keep kicking myself in the butt for not being able to make it last time around when they were accepting 24 instead of 12. Everything works out the way it should so we shall see.
  9. Mindlor, I'm curious, does your note say that you are an alternate too?
  10. Well put Mindlor! Good luck to you!
  11. I emailed her and got a response. She said I was an alternate so hopefully someone will drop. Any takers? hahaha.
  12. Well I got my thanks but no thanks letter. Too bad. Good luck to you all that got in!!!
  13. That is great new Jess! Congrats to you! Did they happen to mention what number they were up to? I know I feel like this waiting in anticipation!!! ===>:barf01:
