I am finishing up my pre-req's and would love to see if anyone is in the same boat as I am or even in nursing school. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Everyone who wants to hear more rumors and conjecture, say "aye"!!! lol
Friend turned in wrong app yesterday so had to call. Woman on the phone told her 550 apps already received as of yesterday. ANd that was only NPR campus. But then another friend said she talked to HER friend who didnt have a FL license and was freaking out and crying, she talked to someone in the office as well and THAT lady said that they had only received a handful of applicants who would even be considered.
Rumors are flying!!!! These next 6w are gonna suck!!!!

550 apps? That's crazy and hard to believe.
I turned mine in Thurs. Now we wait.
Hey guys!!
I've been lurking for about a year on this site and finally decided to join. I've been going to the PHCC West Campus for three semesters now and currently taking Microbiology and lab, so I might know a few of you on here.
I submitted my application last tuesday for August's RN program and I'm so nervous!!!!
My pre-req gpa is a 3.77 and my teas score is an 85.9 (93rd percentile). I took the test twice and if I don't get an acceptance letter for August I'll take the teas one more time and hopefully get in for January.
Goodluck everyone!!!!:)
Hopeful, was she specific? Because I think LPN letters go out pretty quick but RNs not so much.
Which leads me to wonder: if one applied for both LPN and RN, and LPN letters come out earlier, let's say June 15th for example, and you have 14 days to return a yes or no response, what do you do if you are still waiting to see if you got into the RN program? Just accept the LPN spot then drop it if you get an RN spot? That seems ridiculous. But I guess that's where alternates get moved up?
Chris, not really sure. I told her I was going for RN and she said not to worry so much cause she saw I was anxious. She looked over my scores for the Teas and said they were really good, so maybe there are alot more 70's? She said that we'll get letters anytime after mid-june, so I'm guessing most likely the first week of July for RN letters. That wouldn't be fair if they sent out lpn letters so much earlier than rn letters. I only applied for RN.
Do you guys think the percentile rank is very accurate? I mean if you are in the 93rd percentile and there are say 400 applicants for a program wouldn't that mean only 35 people scored higher than you?
Hopeful,
The Program percentile rank isn't just for PHCC, it's for all programs like this nationally. So, for instance, the percentile program rank we get on our score reports is for all RN programs (well, a sample). The national percentile rank refers to everyone who took the TEAS. It's very misleading!
After reading all the posts, it's not looking too good for me! I got a 82.5 on my TEAS and my GPA is 3.6 w/out the Micro Apps. Does anyone have the final word if they it is still considered a pre-req? If not, I don't think it's fair that prior applicants had it & we don't. With the Micro Apps, I would have a 3.75. I turned in my application on Thursday and like a lot of people, will be anxiously waiting.
They need to do something to about getting more nursing instructors, otherwise, this nursing shortage will never improve!
Good luck to everyone!

That is still quite a good score. I went to drop off my LPN apps yesterday and, while there were a lot of applications in the drop box (and I mean a LOT... and it had only been for that day...) the lady who took the scores said that she was seeing a lot of scores in the 70's. She was careful to mention that there were three other people who worked in that office and there were 2 other campuses you could turn apps in at, but that is what she saw. Also, I asked her about them meeting in July, but she said that no they would be meeting in mid to late June to decide and we would know in the first week or two in July. They just put that so we don't get all antsy :) Ummm too late lol.
