I am finishing up my pre-req's and would love to see if anyone is in the same boat as I am or even in nursing school. Any advice would be much appreciated!
I wasn't trying to offend but seriously who knows how they chose. Personally if it was me I would just call the school.
It states on the PHCC website you need on the TEAS at least an Reading 80% Math 60% Science 60% English 70%
My scores for each section on the TEAS were:
Reading: 97.5 % (Only one wrong)
Math: 77.9%
Science: 80%
English: 85.5%
If they gave more points for say Reading and English that would explain something if say someone got a 90% on the reading instead of a 97.5%. Who really knows I'm just throwing that out there. An advisor might know more or maybe they won't say.
I knew my scores were borderline, it looks like the B in A&P lecture did me in. Assuming what everyone has posted scores wise is accurate and I have no reason to doubt anyone, those that had the higher scores did you apply to both LPN and RN? I did think I was within the scores to be selected as a RN alternate but wondered if getting into the LPN is why I was not selected as an alternate??
Someone in my microbiology class said they heard if you apply for both LPN and RN they are more likely to put you in LPN, rather than someone who only applied to RN. That was just hearsay but it is plausible. I only applied to RN.
The fact of the matter is, there is more than this "process" than meets the eye and I'm certainly not saying it because of my results...
Bingo. But I even called a friend who got in this past spring. And even she doesn't know the rhyme or reason. Why all the smoke and mirrors?? What is this "Wizard of Oz"????

I would totally agree with that exceot didnt someone on here say that sometimes they will reject you for LPN if they accepted you for RN? And also, didn't MJ apply and get accepted into all 3?
I applied to RN and LPN and only got into LPN. Not even an alternate on RN. I will call on Monday and will be very upset if it turns out they automatically lump you into LPN when applying to both. I'm sure they have a way to deal with people fielding those type questions. If people are reporting accurately on here, my scores were borderline but good. 88.8 and 3.77 (1 B in Psych). It is what it is and I've accepted it. I would just like to know why some who I know had lower scores got in and were alternates when I was neither. Not the end of the world...just a little disheartening.
I think that totally makes sense. It would kind of tell PHCC that if you applied for LPN and RN, you would be fine if you just got LPN...Makes Sense...
This was my fear in applying to both, but I think they may also understand the idea of a "back-up plan"--which is certainly NOT to say that the LPN program isn't great, but for me, it was my..."back up plan".
