I am finishing up my pre-req's and would love to see if anyone is in the same boat as I am or even in nursing school. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Way to be a "Debbie Downer" Alphamjl...HopefulRNStudent...I will be livid if I don't get in and there are people getting in with 83's...I made a 88.8 and have a 3.77 (and pasco resident). I am nervous thanks to Alphamjl since I received an LPN acceptance in the mail today with no RN letter. But, not to offend anyone on here, THIS IS ONLY A FORUM and should not be taken as "solid gold." To all of us not having received a letter, keep your hopes up and pray!
anyone know if this means we have to complete the cpr certif. before we start this fall or if we can do it while in the program?
Yes I do believe you have to get your CPR card before starting. PHCC has the class all the time and it's only two days and about $17. I recommend going through PHCC for the class because even if say you lose your card, they have it on file that you took the class and can easily pull it up. Check the non-credit courses for summer to see if there are any spots available still. I got mine last summer. It's been a whole year of me planning and prepping for this and now I'm like omg I have to find a hospital to sponsor me, go on vacation as soon as microbiology ends and be back before August 3rd, buy the textbooks, stethoscope, uniform, shoes, background check, and physical, ahhhh it's a little overwhelming!

Maybe it is by GPA and reading scores? Don't fret Pascostudent! I'm sure more letters will be sent out soon! Goodluck!! I'm praying for all of you, even though I don't know most of you!
Being as I am just one more person on an internet forum, here is what I know: They ONLY look at your COMPOSITE TEAS score on ONE TEST. They do not emphasize Reading or peek at transcripts to take highest from each attempt. While you have to have a minimum GPA just to apply, your cumulative is not part of the equation. ONLY the courses specified, composite TEAS, and county residence. The only other thing I am curious about is since they are a PUBLIC institution, do they HAVE to admit a certain amount of males/females, white/black/Hispanic, ect....Reason I ask is because if they "enter your 'numbers' into a database when you apply" (they said this at an information session)...WHY NEED A COMMITTEE?? But...here's the disclaimer folks...THIS IS ONLY A FORUM....don't take it all so seriously or lose sleep over it. Congrats to those in and God Speed to those still holding on!
I got into the RN and both LPN programs!!!!! They all came in one envelope with a letter that said "Congratulations! You have been selected as a candidate in multiple health occupation programs."
I am so happy! I already filled out the forms to accept the RN program and reject the LPNs. Now to find a sweeping-hand watch and all the other stuff!!!

Hmmmm.... see the reply thing gets me. I bet the 2 letters-1 envelope theory is true (and in these days of cost cutting measures, I believe it) Bummer, but I guess this is where I am supposed to be, right God? lol
7 should be fine for BT. Depends on when my h gets home from work. How will we recognize eachother?? pre-determined color shirt? Write PHCC on your forehead in sharpie??? LOL
