Anyone going to PHCC (Pasco-Hernando Community College) for pre-req's or NS?

I am finishing up my pre-req's and would love to see if anyone is in the same boat as I am or even in nursing school. Any advice would be much appreciated! :D

Good info, MJ :) Thanks for calling about that! Mid July bites pretty hard. :eek: It is VERY last minute, too. I am a planner, so it doesn't really sit well with me. Boo.

As for our off-topic Wiregrass bar discussion, lol--I've been to all of those places. Aja is filled with Ed Hardy wearing tools. And tight mini-dress wearing...um...girls... :) Whatever, it's fine, it's close, they have a dj and a dance floor. Just bring your DB repellant ;) to keep the freaks at bay.

Prime Bar is pricey, but the food is good. (Okay, so I've had their hummus and their spinach artichoke dip...lol--and their sangria...). I think I am becoming disenchanted with the whole "going out" scene. That didn't take me long.

Brass Tap is fine--they have live music and it's smaller, so it's pretty easy to have a conversation.

we all need to remember to BREATHE...In one month, we will know!

Mid July great with my Bday on the 14th and my daughter having surgery on the 15th My emotions will really be up in the air. So that makes their previous information re end of June beginning July incorrect.

I am planning as well since If/When I 'm accepted I have no choice but to quit my full time job. Which is scary enough for me.

Not sure if anyone is also waiting to hear about the LPN program but when I called this morning they said notifications will be mailed out the end of the month.

Good afternoon! I'm waiting on my letters too. I have all A's except for a B in Psych and an 88.8 composite on the TEAS. Also applied to HCC and completed all my coreqs for PHCC already. Here's hoping!

I applied for the LPN program... I have also been going crazy waiting. I am going out of town and I hope my letter doesn't come while I'm gone, that would SUCK! I don't even want to go because I want to be around to check the mailbox everyday. Ridiculous... I didn't do very well on my TEAS though, 82....... so I am not very hopeful.

I walked over to admissions this morning before my microbiology class and the lady there said anywhere from the first week of July to the middle of July. That's like a two week time frame. I'm guessing around 4th of July or July 8th like last year. She also said denial letters and acceptance go out together.

Well, since I work pretty much Sat-Wed, I can only really meet up on a Th or Fr night. Would that work for anyone? I'm a lazy beer drinker who feels too old and fat to go anywhere that dj's or dance floors exist. How sad is that??? LOL So if anyone wants to meet up at the BT on a Thursday or Friday night, lemme know. I'm free any weekend except July 4th (husband and I are taking our yearly long weekend to Key West :jester: )

As for letters -- eh, my stomach has more holes than swiss cheese from all my worry ulcers! Need to drink more, stress less! :yeah:

lol I agree about the drinking more and stressing less. I am free Friday nights if you guys are. I work Mon-Fri so that's pretty much the only day I have. Drinking the night before work is kind of a no-no, I've heard ;). And, yeah I figure the second week of July we will hear something. I am going away the 8th and 9th for a birthday trip so I'm sure THAT'S when we'll get them lol

I saw RN orientation Date of 8/3/10 8-12 on the PHCC calendar today for August 2010. They also had LPN orientation set for 8/4/10 same hours. FYI

Hello everyone, I called PHCC yesterday...committee met and letters will be being sent out from the admissions office by end of this week or next. Good Luck!!!:nurse:

Kchandler, thanks for the info on orientation. I figured it was August 3rd or 4th like last year. That's good to know for those that get accepted if anyone needs to go on vacation.

I'm kinda mad at myself for not applying for LPN too but there was no way I could do nights with a 4 1/2 year old.
