I know someone who applied for January 2006. She was 11th on the waiting list and OCC called her last week and told her that she's in!! She started Tuesday. Plus during Fall enrollment they take many students (80+) as opposed to the January enrollment.

i'm quite confident i won't get it. that nln killed me! still waiting for the results!

right now i'm taking the cna class at samlands, pharmacology, human anat i, and mat 102. i'm pretty scared. they all seem intense!! thanks for the news about your friend. helps spark the confidence, i have so little left! :chuckle

I have a BA so I applied to Loyola's Accelerated BSN program. I'll hear in February or March and start in May. Who do you have for A&PI? I just finished A&PII last semester.

You should really rethink the BSN route. I heard Rush North Shore will pay a $18k sign on bonus. I wasn't too impressed with the nurses at OCC when I went to a meeting there. Good luck. Keep me posted. :)

Did anyone take the NLN in January? I took it, it was pretty tough. I walked out feeling pretty bad about it. I did get my scores back and they seem pretty good (don't know if I should share them or not). I usually freak out about testing and do better then I originally thought. Keeping my fingers crossed. We should hear something in April, right? Such a long wait.

How are everyone's classes going? I'm in A&P2 and EGL102. I have an A&P test on Friday and i'm flipping out because I can't keep my horomones straight! (Endocrine sys.) If anyone has any pointers or mneumonic devices to help memorize the flow and functions of horomones that would be greatly appreciated!

i hated the nln and thought i bombed but when i went to have my scores looked at by the nursing dept they said, great you "cut the mustard" :rotfl: thought that was pretty funny!! but i guess you just look under your ad score under verbal at the right of the paper? they didn't even look at math or science. i got in the 80s so i'll take it!

my pharmacology class is killing me!! i have no idea what is going on! :uhoh3:

My verbal score was 77. Not great but maybe it will be good enough. My composite percentile score was in the 90s so hopefully they look at that number first. We'll see....we don't have to bring the scores to the nursing department do we? I thought the scores were sent directly to Oakton also.

I hear bad things about Pharmacology. I think i'm going to wait and take it next fall. Sounds like a hard class. Good luck w/ it Paula7! OH-BTW my endocrine test went ok I think, I'll find out for sure on Wednesday. :)

I graduated from OCC in Dec. 06. Bring your NLN scores with you when you apply. They rank you by composite score then verbal. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the reply !!! I actually just found out abt 2 weeks ago that I got into the nursing program at OCC for fall :) How was it ?? Where did u do ur clinincals at?I have orientatation in August! Where are u wrking now? Are u going on for a bachelors?? Sry for all the ?'s :)
