Please help my feet! I have wide feet and as if that isn't bad enough, I also wear womens size 10! Ugh. What shoes can I wear that will be wide enough and still provide comfort for those long hours of standing?

I have wide feet, and unfortunately it's hard to find shoes that don't cost an arm and a leg. I also have a narrow heel, which makes it even harder to find the right fit.
Few stores bother to carry wide widths even when they carry narrow. Penney's catalog carries a variety of wide, but I can rarely find them in their stores to try on. Nordstrom's does carry wide, but they tend to be pretty expensive.
I also find that if I go up half a size, that works also.

Look for brands that have widths. Easy Spirit and others in a non- nursing shoe if you prefer that. I've not worn a pair in a few years but was always able to get wide in 9.5s Spend the premium to get a decent shoe, your feet are important and you will avoid needless leg fatigue and low back pain if you have cushioning and support in my experience.

I've had luck finding wide shoes from Naturalizer, Bass and occassionally Hush Puppies. Check their websites if you're not sure where you can find them locally.
For athletic shoes, I sometimes just get men's shoes (have to convert the size) if I can't find a comfortable fit in a woman's shoe. Many of the styles are 'gender neutral', and they tend to be wider at the ball of the foot.
Always have thought that my feet look like they belong on a duck.

New Balance are great and they come in wide.

I have the exact same problem and I've found the most success with Saucony running shoes. The city I used to live in had a great shoe store where they specialized in fitting shoes for people with various foot challenges and they are the ones that turned me on to Saucony and also recommended Birkenstocks.
Fortunately, my healthplan covers a yearly trip to the podiatrist where we can have work shoes custom made from Birkenstock. My Birkenstock clogs took some getting used to, but they are by far the most excellent work shoes I've ever owned.

I wear 9 WIDE shoes and I go to Kohl's, it is a department store here in Indiana, and they carry Nike's and Reebok's that are in Wide sizes and they go up to size 10. If they have a Kohl's in your area, you could try that. I wouldn't wear anything but my Nike Air 9 wides...they are SOOOOO comfortable!!!!!!!

Try Kswiss or Nike. I wear a 9 and my feet are wide = I wouldn't trade my Kswiss for anything. Since I started wearing them, my feet don't hurt at all (unless its been one of THOSE shifts :) )

My feet are sort of small for my height (8 1/2) but i have the wide-toe area, skinny-heel problem. Easy Spirits fit very well, for tennis shoes (and feel great), but since i don't want to touch my shoes, i wear Quarks, since they fit well, and the arch support is superb.

New Balance. I get the running shoes though, not walking shoes, I find them more comfortable.
I do 8 hours in NB's no problems. Don't know of they would be comfy for 12's

I think New Balance would be your best bet. Speaking of shoes.....does anybody remember Earth Shoes from the 70's? They are back and boy are they comfortable (sorry they don't come in wide withs).......and oh boy am I showing my age with this post :)
