Please help my feet! I have wide feet and as if that isn't bad enough, I also wear womens size 10! Ugh. What shoes can I wear that will be wide enough and still provide comfort for those long hours of standing?

i also have wide large foot and i have been using men's nike for work for the past 2/3 years. they are wider and more studry built than women even of the same brand name...and you really can't tell the differeance because we live in a mono society....if you want to feel more feminine get yourself some fancy shoe laces....i have not tried the brickenstock (sp?) but i think i will invest my life savings on the advice of these threads..stay comfy

I have 10 1/2 wide feet, am 5'8" tall and ample size. I have had plantar fasciitis and it was recommended that I try SAS (San Antonio Shoe Co.) as as they have extra padding for the pounding we give our feet. The ones I wear have # D4603355 / Free Spirit on the tongue and come in 1/2 sizes, mens, and womens, and white, brown, tan, and black. I bought a pair up here in Maine in July and paid $100. Not cheap but what can you do, when they get too worn, they become my home shoes and I get another pair for work. If you get the recept to say "nurses shoes" your tax man will have something to work with also. Good luck. ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions everybody!:D I plan on going shopping for shoes tomorrow and I'm going to start browsing online today.

I definitely have wider feet than I used to. Used to wear Nike's all the time, but find them too narrow in the toe box now. Like one of the previous posters, I have found Saucony running shoes to be wonderful for me. They have a wider toe box, and great comfort. I do buy the higher priced ones with really good heel and instep support, and I replace them every few months. But they are the only shoe I wear now for work. I go to a specialized running store for mine; they carry higher quality than the local general sporting goods store.

I wear a pair of Reeboks I found in a store for $30. I wear 13 Wide, so I have a REALLY hard time finding shoes that fit.

If you like clogs, Anywears are very comfortable.

I wear a 10 Wide as well.....it's awful trying to find shoes that fit me and are comfortable to boot! Good luck!

I found NurseMates to be very comfortable. I get a 9.5 Wide and they feel great. The store I got them from didnt have my size, but they special order for no extra charge, or look on the internet for them. They are very lightweight, slip resistent and have a variety of styles. Mine were only $45.95.

jetta...not sure if you are male/female...but if you're female I'd try a men's shoe as previous poster mentioned...they are definetly made wider...whatever woman's size you wear try a man's 1 size smaller..works for me with tennis shoes like Nike..NB....good luck with your shopping:)..nothing worse than uncomfortable shoessss!

:chuckle This is a great thread! I went to Lady Foot locker today and got some great comfortable running shoes called "Basics". The saleswoman measured both of my feet and was extremely helpful.
