So April 15th has come and gone. Now we sit and wait. I know that letters won't start coming out until June, right?
I will admit that I'm nervous - I worry about my GPA not being good enough because of the utter failure I was when I first attended college 17 years ago. I've pulled a 3.91 GPA at the college I attend now, and have a 2.92 cumulative between the two colleges (like I said, failure.)
I scored a 92% on the TEAS and am doing well in the pre-reqs, except for Psychology. I won't receive points for that one since I had a C- way back when. I am retaking that this summer in order to raise my GPA.
Any other thoughts? How are you feeling? What is your history?
Good luck and blessings to all :) It's a pleasure to be a member of this forum.
To Chickadee77,
I just declared public health as a major, so I'm currently double-majoring since I'm practically done with most of my GEs. You might want to try to take a writing class to fulfill SDSU's Graduation Writing Requirement, that's if you did not get a 10 on your WPA.
To SwtSangria,
Have you tried talking to the nursing academic advisor? She can tell you what you can do to improve on your application for next semester since the department still has all of our application informations. Hope that helps =)
If you go to this link, there's a Non Admit Group Advising Session you can go to if you applied for Fall 09 and didn't get in. They will talk about how you can improve your chances for your rollover application. Hope this helps.
MissNGinger... I have also been selected as an alternate for Fall 09'... I am a new member to this site and I'm glad I'm not the only one in this boat. I have my fingers crossed to get in this Fall, but if not, I think our chances are looking pretty good for this spring. What upper division classes are you going to take this semester if you don't get accepted?
Water83 and Coriander, thank you. :)
studentmama, they already called me to give me a spot to start Fall. I think it's very good news that you are an alternate because you might start this Fall if some students don't work out or change their plans. If not, it's a given that you should get in for Spring!
WOW congrats... Thats great. I guess I have to wait till orientation to find out if I get in. Or I might even have to wait till the second class to see if someone doesn't show up. Ughh it sucks having to wait, so stressful. Well I guess it's better than not being accepted at all. Well I know that as of now I'm #1 on the list, so I'm hopeful. Its bound that atleast one person doesn't show up, right?
i have a question for those who didn't get in this fall??? how many of you guys are going still going to take classes at state this fall? you know... the upper division grad requirements?i just want to know :)
that would be me! i'm re-taking a polisci class i miserably failed eons ago, and taking psych351 as well as a few other classes.
yeah!! i can't believe it. i got the phone call yesterday saying i was accepted to ns this fall. somebody had to drop out for personal issues, so i got in! well i'm super excited and can't wait to meet everyone ot orientaion in a couple weeks:hpygrp:
i'm so happy for you, studentmama :) i wish you all the best this semester! let us know how you like it!

as far as my plans, i went to the non-admit group session today and was able to speak with the lady that runs it. she called each of us in to discuss our applications. i had 70 points originally, and did not get in based on the c- i had in intro to psych (which i took in 1992). i retook that class this summer, received an a, and informed this kind woman of the fact. my new point value is 74.
i'm really keeping my fingers and toes crossed for a spring acceptance! don't forget to send in your rollover application and make sure it got there!

Hey guys, I just ran across this thread while browsing... I will be a 6th semester student in the Fall and remember all too clearly the excitement/fear/nervousness you are all feeling right now. And I wanted to say good luck! I think somebody said they felt like the needed to do something to prepare.. I would suggest to begin studying drug calculations, as you will have to pass a series of drug quizzes with 100% accuracy... Also you can begin studying medical abbreviations, as we had a quiz on that as well. This can help you stay one step ahead of the game.
And Congratulations!!! The requirements are much harder now than when I applied, so this is a big accomplishment..
