So April 15th has come and gone. Now we sit and wait. I know that letters won't start coming out until June, right?
I will admit that I'm nervous - I worry about my GPA not being good enough because of the utter failure I was when I first attended college 17 years ago. I've pulled a 3.91 GPA at the college I attend now, and have a 2.92 cumulative between the two colleges (like I said, failure.)
I scored a 92% on the TEAS and am doing well in the pre-reqs, except for Psychology. I won't receive points for that one since I had a C- way back when. I am retaking that this summer in order to raise my GPA.
Any other thoughts? How are you feeling? What is your history?
Good luck and blessings to all :) It's a pleasure to be a member of this forum.
it's been a while folks... but i'm back to let everyone know that they are only taking 50 people this spring for the son. boo!
did any of you guys who didn't get in fall 09, roll-over their application? i did and i am not excited this time around. i'm tired of the rejection. any thoughts from you guys?
corriander,
did they do grade projections for you? is that they miscalculated your points, or was it just because of the psyc class?
Has anyone had any experience with they project grades? Are they generally right? What if you get a higher score then projected, do you still get into the program, or do you have navigate a big bureaucratic nightmare?

They didn't do grade projections for me, no. What happened was that I had taken the Intro to Psych class 17 years ago and received a C-, which initially lost me 4 points right off the bat. I retook the class over the summer and received an A, which put the 4 points back on. It was because of that class that I didn't get in.
I sat down with an advisor, and she had my file, and that was the only thing she said that needed to be resolved. She then told me what my points had been and what they were now with the Psych grade. I don't know if they do it by projected grades... I think with SDSU they go by what they see in front of them.

so even though you had 74 points, you're in the gray zone? when i went to an "information session" they said that the most recent cutoff was 72. I hope you get in, I'm sure you probably have more points than others, but what do i know?????
before i knew that there was a group session for those who didn't get in for fall, i went to a group session for those who haven't applied yet. that's when nicodemus said that they're only admitting 50 students this spring. then a week or two later i went to the group session for those rolling over, and she told us that they're admitting 70 students this spring. so i don't really know which is true?
hi guys.. 60 is better than 50.. lol. i'll take it!
i spoke to dr. n on thursday 9/10 and i had asked her what my chances are for the spring.. she said that it will be close because they are only taking 50 students.
they do tend to flip flop with their numbers, but hopefully it will be a better number come spring.
Bumping this thread...
Well, here we are with only 2 1/2 weeks until classes start and I don't think they've started acceptance calls yet, considering they've been on "vacation" until January 5th.
I haven't had the chance to speak with anyone in Administration so I have no clue when calls are going to start.
Thank goodness all of my professors e-mailed my grades in. I was getting worried there with a couple of them. lol
