Anyone else waiting to hear from San Diego State University?

U.S.A. California

So April 15th has come and gone. Now we sit and wait. I know that letters won't start coming out until June, right?

I will admit that I'm nervous - I worry about my GPA not being good enough because of the utter failure I was when I first attended college 17 years ago. I've pulled a 3.91 GPA at the college I attend now, and have a 2.92 cumulative between the two colleges (like I said, failure.)

I scored a 92% on the TEAS and am doing well in the pre-reqs, except for Psychology. I won't receive points for that one since I had a C- way back when. I am retaking that this summer in order to raise my GPA.

Any other thoughts? How are you feeling? What is your history?

Good luck and blessings to all :) It's a pleasure to be a member of this forum.

friendly staff reminder

please do not post names per the terms of service which states:

no potentially libelous information about specific schools, instructors, or health care facilities/entities should be posted in these forums. while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.
  2. while allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.

fall 08.. the cutoff was 66... stupid budget cuts.

Hey guys, I wish all of you the best!!! I got my call today at 12pm and I have 72 points using the Fall 06 method if that helps. If some of you did not make it... Don't feel bad, I think I just barely made it and this session has had the largest applicants and the scores were very difficult to compete with. Spring 09 should be back to more normal ranges of points that are accepted. I talked to a girl that is in a pre-nursing club at state and she said that the lowest number accepted from spring admission 09 was 64. You guys can do it! LVD

I hope there is a "spring" and I hope there is no "budget cut" ..if there are...well then its going to be just as bad.

ok so i don't know if any of you know but since I was rejected, does my sdsu application rollover like the nursing one is going to in Spring 2010? I am just confused because I wont be attending state unless its for the actual program itself. So do I have to apply to sdsu all over again? I guess that is what my question is.

I spoke with someone there and they said they would be mailing out the rollover applications towards the end of this month.

ETA: Oh, misread your question. It might be a good idea to call SDSU Admissions and talk to someone there. Good question :)

Just coming here to let some of you know that if you are within the cutoff, you might have a chance if some people decline or change their plans/decisions before late August. They called me Monday afternoon and gave me a spot for Fall because I was one of the lucky alternates~! Life happens for many people, so don't give up. :redpinkhe;)

craziechiq, the best thing to do is call admissions. Ask them what your options are to stay admitted for Spring if you don't plan to take any courses for Fall. All I know is that the school won't let you reapply to SDSU for spring semester, only fall.

Congrats missnginger!!
