I start school Wednesday (14th)! I am nervous but excited. I feel like I am not prepared but I have done all that was required (physical, immunization record, etc.). Anybody else start this week?

Specializes in Neurocritical Care.

I start Monday and I am a bundle of nerves right now. Orientation is tomorrow so I will have a better idea of what to expect. I already have a lot of skills under my belt being a CNA 2 in critical care for 2 years so I don't know why I'm so nervous!!! Good luck to you! Be sure to let us know how your first day goes, I'm curious :)

Specializes in Hospice.

I start the 27th, just had orientation today!

We didn't have an orientation. May I ask what all you went over in orientation?

It was really just a review of the student handbook for the ADN program. A sort of meet and greet with the faculty, then in the student lounge they had an area set up to try on and order your srcubs if you haven't yet, and to sign up for this new mentorship program they are starting this year. We did get our clinical assignments though, so that's one thing I didn't have yet! I have clinicals at two local facilities which is great! Only a fifteen minute drive for me which will make 6:30 in the morning a little better. We have no labs for our courses the frist three weeks, only one big lab for the first three fridays where all the students will be there to learn the basics before we start clinicals around week four. We will have five clinicals in a hospital (8 hours on Fridays) and five clinicals in a LTC (8 hours on Fridays).

Well, we go back on Monday to finish our last semester of LPN school. Summer was really rough...but looking forward to finishing the semester! Good luck to you!

I am starting on the 19th. I am really excited about it. It's been a long road to get here and now I am ready to go. Good luck to all of you starting nursing school as well.

I hear that anyone who has been a CNA already will have no problems in the first level. I too have been a CNA for 32 years and a CMA for 19. Since you have critical care experience, you will do just fine. Good luck to you.

We went over the handbook, talked about our e-books, fitted with uniforms, and discussed what we needed, such as physicals, drug tests, CNA, CPR certification etc. and when everything was due to begin classes. We also talked about student loans, Pell grants, etc. We were there for 7 hours and I am sure I am forgetting some things, but it was very informative.

We had bootcamp yesterday and today from 9-2 and classes start on Monday the 19th!! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. My poor brain is on information overload though with all that has been thrown at us the last 2 days but I am ready to begin this journey full force!!

First day of class is tomorrow! I will let you all know how it goes!

I start the 26th!! I have orientation next week. Cant wait!!!!!!!!!!
