  1. Hi! It's working great! First semester we had mon-thurs classes 4-730. And 6 hour clinicals on Saturday. This semester we are tues and thurs 4-8 and 12 hour clinical on Sunday. It's busy. Many out rotations. But worth it. I like it because it works with our schedule better so we don't have to pay for daycare ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  2. I'm currently in the FT PN program. The points are tallied by grades and then add your teas score. In all of your required classes (ENG,BIO,PSY) you find your points as follows A=4 points B=3 points C=2 points So if you made a 75 on your teas, and B's in all of your classes, you would have a competing score of 84. My competing score was 94 and I was accepted. There are people in my class with lower (point ranges in 80's) that were accepted. And we also have 2 alternates that were accepted too. I am in the night and weekend program. Good luck! It's tough but worth it! ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  3. I have a cheapo "prestige medical" one and a littman se classic. BIG difference! Love my littman! ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  4. Honestly, I know how hard it must be. And you worked hard to get where you are with your current job... But if nursing is what you REALLY want and your options are as limited as you say they are- then I would quit my job if I were you. You will thank yourself once you graduate an become a nurse! It's worth so much more than 13 years of retirement and a job that doesn't allow you to do what you want (study) on your lunch break. That sucks!! Sorry Hun ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  5. Lucky for us our instructors make our tests. Took the exam last night and I really think I Aced it! I will know for sure on Friday. The ati book really did help for review. Was a nice refresher before the test! ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  6. Have any of you guys utilized the ATI books for your exams as a study guide? Our instructor told us pretty much what to know for the exam, and it seems to me that it's all in the book in order, and in a review form that's easy to read without all the added bulk from the fundamentals book. Anyone have success with this? ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  7. Our program last year started with 20 and graduated 9. We just started a couple weeks ago, had 20 registered and 1 never came so we are at 19. Hoping we all make it but the first exam is the 9th so we will see! ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  8. Anyone? ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  9. Hey there! We are having our first calculations class tomorrow and I'm wondering- what units of measurements should I worry about most when learning conversions? Thanks in advance guys! ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  10. Brush up on your Cna skills! The whole first week of lab we did check off with no practice so a lot of people were blindsided and had to repeat their check offs. Also, read a little to get a feel for your text book. Look over metric conversions. And enjoy your time off while you can! You will be super busy! ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  11. Also remember to provide privacy ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  12. My first day today was pretty awesome! The retention specialist came in and spoke for about an hour on how to properly study according to how we learn and gave us some good tips on surviving the program lol. Our instructor went over the module/syllabus and by the time she was done we had really no time to get into lecture so she let us go about 30 minutes early. It was a good day! We have lab tomorrow evening, so this will be interesting! Going to a classmates house tomorrow to help her freshen up her Cna skills for our first check-off. Good luck to you all! We can do this!!! ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  13. I start tomorrow too. I'm just as nervous as you are- I could just about throw up over it lol ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  14. To add to that- once I purchased it I had it within a week. ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
  15. I bought mine at allheart.com specifically because I could have them engrave it. Could you consider buying it there instead? Or are you getting a really goo discount at your work? ~Mom (aka superwoman!)
