I'm finishing up my last pre-req this semester and will be applying online within the next couple of weeks as the deadline is March 1st. Anyone else applying for fall semester?
To get an idea, I went in and searched using last fall's semester code so I could see what sites may be the norm and to get instructor names so I could get as much possible info about both and go from there; I'm still pretty clueless about some sites and instructors, but I feel a liitle better than I did at least knowing who and where might be available.
I saw them over the weekend too, what sites and instructors for this coming fall and it looked pretty much like the same instructors and sites as last fall's schedule; some may change, but it's a start to get some names to check out, ask around about.
This might be a stupid question. Are we supposed to do the online HEC orientation listed for admitted students on the home page? Or is that just for distance learners and/or do we not mess with it til we are there. I have to dig out my first letter; I think I saw the online orientation mentioned but that it was for distance learners?
Now come to think of it, I completely forgot about that. Yes, it was in my acceptance letter. I believe it is for distance learners and we'll in my opinion if you have done your pre-req's at SPC then you probably have already done this. I'm sure it's not a big deal. The main thing is the June 30th orientation, but I'm sure it won't hurt to do it.
I was accepted into the EAYL program for Fall 2010 in late April/early may. I was told I by someone from EAYL that I would receive a letter from SPC with more info. I have not gotten that letter yet and I am anxious to know what my next steps are etc... Has anyone gotten that letter? Or if you have already gone through EAYL when did u get your letter from the school?
Hey Jess, I am in EAYL just went thru level 1... From what I remember, they sent something in the mail to you around the same time as the SPC packet. For EAYL you have to go to an orientation for them and they will tell you about tuition and books and stuff and answer any questions you might have. You will also have to go to a 2 day orientation for Baycare if you have not gone already. Congrats on EAYL! You'll love it!!! :) Let me know if you have any other questions
For the TEAS...there is no certain "score" you need. They make you take it only to see where you are and what areas you need to work on during your own time. It will break your results down into sections (i.e. for math...conversions, fractions, basic algebra...etc.) and tell you what you are strong and weak in. Then a few weeks into the semester, your instructor will go over your results with you and suggest areas to work on @ NIPS or somehting. So basically, you cannot pass or fail it. No matter how you do, you are still in the program even if you suck. lol.
As far as studying, I really didn't study. I just reviewd up on my math a little bit. They do have RANDOM stuff on there like geology and physics that I guessed on. From what I remember, they only had like 3 A&P questions.
The scrubs...I was lazy and bought the ones @ Scrubs N Stuff with the embroidered SPC logo. I bought 4 pairs of the blue scrub pants, 2 polos and 3 scrub tops and that worked out well.

Thanks. No troubles registering, we do that during the upcoming orientation. Just don't know if I want to do days or nights (or if I'll even get my pick), that's all.
So, you pick based on instuctors and not clinical sites? I thought it was both. That makes sense though (instructors).
