Anyone else applying for fall 2010 SPC nursing program?

Published

I'm finishing up my last pre-req this semester and will be applying online within the next couple of weeks as the deadline is March 1st. Anyone else applying for fall semester?

Clinical Sites: PM me if you want specific teachers I would suggest... ;)

ATDeckSN, I PM'd you. Let me know if you don't get it. Would love suggestions!!

Got my letter yesterday and was accepted for August. Good luck to all!

@Scrapworking -i'm not sure if i need to show proof of residency, thats also a big fear of mine because i have nothing to show to them with my sister's address on it. I 'm basically hoping and praying that they do not ask. If i dont get in this semester i give up!:crying2:

I was told to bring in my ID and either voter ID or vehicle registration or . . . (there was one other thing I can't remember), and I was told they both have to be older than 1 year. I just found this out so I thought I'd let you know.

Congratulations!!

Does anybody know anything about the entrance exam? I have gotten different answers when I ask the advisors; it sounds like the score doesn't matter this first time and that it's just math and reading, but one advisor said TEAS . . . . and that would mean science is on it. Any info is appreciated!

Hello All,

I was accepted into the SPC nursing program for this Fall through the Baycare EAYL program. I was told I am supposed to get a from SPC with all the orientation info in it. I haven't gotten it yet. I was wondering if those of you who were accepted directly into the SPC nursing program knew of the orientation date or if there was any other info in your acceptance letters? I would like to be able to request time off from work for the orientation as early as possible.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Jessica

Thanks.

I don't know what is actually on the test. It is just to see where you actually are at in regards to basic knowledge. All I got was my letter stating my admission date and a notice of intent (replying for my seat) to send back to the HEC. Have you gotten an oreintation packet yet?

I'm right there with you in regards to dates and stuff. All it said in my letter that oreintation packets will be sent out in the near future with more info and a background/drug screening needs to be completed within 90 days. It was pretty vague. It did say that the HEC will send out more information in regards to oreintation dates. So, it looks like there might be more than one. Either way, I'm sure there will be plenty of notice.

Nothing in the acceptance letter, but I was told the packets were going out last week. They told me June 30th was orientation, but I don't have that in writing yet :)

Thanks.

Not yet, will let you know when I get it.

Thank you, same here. I guess I'll have a bunch of questions once I head up to talk to the advisors. I'm assuming we find out about classes/schedules/clinical sites all at oreintation?

Yes, unless there's some info on our choices in the packet, not sure. What I was told is that at orientation we choose professors/sites we want and one advisor said it takes a few days to set the schedule and then we find out if we got what we asked for or not. I don't know how many we have to choose from or which hospitals--I did look at last semester's sites/professors by searching from my schedule in myspc to get an idea of which hospitals they use for clinicals, but I don't know if every semester has the same professors or sites.

Alright, I see. Thanks for the info. Yeah, it can change from semester to semester (clinical sites), but usually just varies slightly. Let's see...I was going to ask you something else...do you know when we actually take the TEAS exam? I guess we will find this out in due time as well.
