Just wanted to shout out to anyone currently attending or has completed an online program getting their Masters in Education.
Where are you going?
Are you liking it? (As much as you can like it because I hate school).
Is there a "clinical" component?
Any other comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I echo Siri's comments Tweety. Its wonderful that you are considering this. I know University of Phoenix has an MSN with an education focus. I was happy with my MSN education from there. Good luck..
Thanks. A part time program would probably take me 4 years, I'm not sure I'm willing. But my gut is telling me to at least consider it. I would only consider online degrees. :monkeydance:

My MSN-Nursing Education program was entirely online, 36-39 credit hours (depending on whether you have had prior classroom/ clinical experience). I loved it. We also had a practicum, but very flexible requirements.

I'm doing mine through the Univ. of New Mexico. I only take one class a semester, so it'll take 4 1/2 to 5 years. They do their best to let you do your practicum close to where you live, have to do 196 hours (I think). I told my advisor there was no way I could do all of them in one semester, and work nights, and raise my kids (single mom), and lead my 2 Scout troops, make to church once in a while, get the kids to band and music lessons and Little League, push the homeschooling, practice a little Tae Kwon Do, and read 2-3 novels a week. Sleeping is nice too!
Done 4 classes so far, don't know why I need some of it, but I sure am learning a lot. After being out of school for 20 years, going back to writing papers was a little nervous making, but it all went okay. Go for it! Have fun with it!
Care to share which school you went to?
East Carolina University in Greenville, NC (one of the largest nursing programs in the state): http://nursing.ecu.edu/msn_concentrations.htm#ne
Thanks. I remember when I lived in NC that ECU had a fairly good reputation. It would probably be expensive for me to attend not being a resident. Looks like a good program.

Hi Tweety,
I am not currently attending this program but I thought I would share info with you anyway. TESC @ http://www.tesc.edu has developed a program for BSN/MSN with a track in nurse education. The MSN portion has 36 credits so it may be worth checking out. The tuition is 400 per credit hour for grad level courses.

Hello everyone. I will be starting my online MSN in Nursing Education at the University of Phoenix Online next month. I decided to go this route (distance learning) because there are no colleges/universities in my area that offer a masters program in nursing education. Furthermore, UOP's program is set up in a modular format that is very similar to the BSN program that I completed last December, and I can complete it in as little as 18 months. This is great, as I plan on going into a Ph.D program shortly thereafter.
BTW, is anyone here attending this particular UOP program? If so, what are your thoughts on the program and do you have any helpful hints to a UOP newbie?
