Has anyone appied and been accepted into the RN program at DBCC? If so what was your GPA? How were your NET scores?

ScraigGN,

Hello! Read your post that you're now working after graduating. My Congratulations to you!

Would like to know if you already took your NCLEX? I would like to work too in the hospital, although I am a foreign

trained nurse,we have different reqs. so I am not sure if i will qualify too to work as GN?

Would appreciate it very much any idea from you. I was even considering now another route like this CNA so i can start applying, but to my dismay, I need to have a florida certificate.

Any ideas? I am so confused at this time which way to go.Badly need to have a job soon.

I am taking my NCLEX on Feb. 3rd, everyone wish me luck!!!!

I'm not sure what the qualifications are for foreign nurses so you'd have to contact the Nursing Recruiter at whichever hospital you'd like to work at. Also, I worked as a tech (CNA) for 9 months and I didn't need a florida license. Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial hired me after completing first semester. It's a great job, I learned sooo much. Best of luck to you!

ScraigGN,

You mean, we can work as tech even if we don't have yet the license? I will be taking my NCLEX soon, still not schedule it, but then needs to get a job to support myself.Do you have any suggestion where i can go to in Ormond Hospital? Thanks.

I don't see any openings for a Patient Care Tech (CNA) at this time. If you have already graduated, you can work as a Graduate Nurse (GN) as I am right now. Here:

check for RN openings and you can apply there. Good luck!

ScraigGN,

I opened that site, qualification : must have an active Florida License.I don't have a license yet.

Will search again here if i can find other jobs.

Thanks again.

So guys, I know it's been hectic but how did everyone do on there first test/dose calc/check off?

Hi all! I'm applying to the DSC program and wonder if I could highjack your thread for a second. :D

I was wondering about the NET at Daytona: Does it include the science questions?

Thanks in advance!

so approx half of our class failed the first test, there were some really low grades. skills evals on friday. I passed (barely).

wow, well there is a lot on info on this first test. all but 1 passed the dose calc, i believe everyone passed skills check off, and all but 6 passed the first test. I did good.

idk i know i messed up by not knowing the specific meds, the instructor said we didn't need to memorize them, a lot of the other students said the same.anyway, whatever, i know what i need to do to get a better grade next test.

I went off the course outline and objective sheet in the syllubus, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the grade I did today.
