Has anyone appied and been accepted into the RN program at DBCC? If so what was your GPA? How were your NET scores?
wow guys i havent even gotten my books yet. i went to deland bookstore but they don't have half of the books so i plan on getting everything in daytona. i'll have plenty of bored time up north (in the cold) during christmas so i guess i'll start reading too..lol..anyway happy holidays to everyone, rest up over the break!
I'm glad you guys brought up the topic of reading ahead. I start the program this January and have my books on the way. I was contemplating reading some before the semester starts to get ahead, but wasn't sure how useful it would be. In your opinion, is this something that will be useful for a new nursing student or should I just take it easy before the semester starts?
starting in january the program is going to be completely different, i'm not sure exactly what you will be learning but reading ahead a bit couldn't hurt.
:yeahthat:
Read ahead of time, that way you know what you have trouble understanding and can ask the professor to clarify ahead of time.
hi,
congrats to you all finishing your 1st semester successfully, that is awesome!
I am starting in Jan. and have a bit of a quandary, I need to take a day off on Monday, Feb 2nd. The way my schedule works out it is Nursing Process I Clinical day from 8am to 4:20. Is it completely out of the question to take this day off, will I be shooting myself in the foot by doing so? Should I contact Wanda Lear now about it?
Thanks so much for your advise.

Slightly hard to answer this cause I'm not sure how this new class thing is going to work out. That being said, you usually can miss 1 clinical day without any problems. I highly advise against it if you can manage but we all know that life happens. I would speak to your clinical instructor about it since they will be the one marking you absent or present.
Just wanted to let everyone know that if you go to Ms. Oehmke's website on the daytonastate website she has the reading list and a bunch of other things on there for second semester. I would assume we will all be on pretty much the same reading schedule because we have a calendar to follow. Just thought I would let everyone know since the reading starts on Chapter 30 and not 1.
Have a Merry Christmas!
