hi shiina! Florida Hospital Ormond is a great place to work. I work as a flex pool employee so I float to other floors all the time. I would recommend applying on the 3rd floor - Surgical Nursing Unit or 2nd floor - Progressive Care Unit. Those are the two best floors. There also may be positions on the 6th floor - Medical Care Unit which you will learn a lot on but it is a very hard floor, very sick patients, many on isolation. Good luck!
Private message me with any further questions.
And thank you for the luck about my final semester... I have always gotten B's but this semester I have a C It's definitely hard but I know I'll get through it to be a

Hello,
I live by the Chipper Jones park, just on the other side of the railroad tracks! Where do you live? I would also like to work as a PCT, but not really sure when to take that adventure on, because I really want to concentrate on school.
To ScraigSN,
Thanks for that info.I still have to concentrate on my exam, but will be filing my application soon.
To MB,
Thanks for your response.I lived one block from the middle high school. It's good to know someone here is my neighbor.
Don't forget to let me know if anyone of you have idea if DSC is offering a refresher course. Thanks again.
Passed too!!! I definitely thought that was the most difficult skill so far. Did you guys actually use the packets of stuff (peroxide & lube)? Some of the students in my class did and some did not. My instructor wanted us to open them and OMG, the cath went in SOOO much easier!!
Med-pass here we come!!!

man... 1st and 2nd semester i was sooo nervous at clinicals! i used to have to take a xanax before going on the floor just to not freak out! but don't worry... you have your teacher and classmates there for you. some nurses on the floor are very helpful and will teach while others don't want students around. don't let them bother you.
regarding showers, i am a PCT (CNA) and i've given a couple showers... and yes, you do get sprayed a little bit but you just try to stay back as far as possible. i do think it's a good idea to have an extra pair of scrubs on you, just in case you get TOO wet. i gave a shower to a lady last week but it was at the end of my shift so i didn't mind being a little damp.
p.s. i love reading about you first semester students... it reminds me of where i used to be!! i just wish there was a last semester thread too...
