Has anyone appied and been accepted into the RN program at DBCC? If so what was your GPA? How were your NET scores?

I am so over the school and their attitudes. I can't believe they get upset because we want all of our ducks in a row. They made this mess for themselves, you didn't see changing the system.

I was on hold forever the other day! It is crazy. I know so many people who dont even know how much aid they are getting if any at all.

It's kind of a lose-lose situation. If you just let them do whatever they're doing and your stuff falls through, then it's your fault for not following up. If you call or stop by periodically to check up, then they have an attitude with you - no matter how nice you are. It's gotten to the point where I don't care who I **** off, I just need to know my file is correct and complete. You're right though, they messed up here. Fin aid said they started changing the system in April so if you don't have it down by now, I don't know what to tell you.

I have been going to DBCC (now DSC) for the past 4 years and dealing with them is SO ANNOYING!!! i got a letter stating that i couldn't get any financial aid because i have 'unsatisfactory progress .. more than 150% of the program completed' because i have an AA general ed degree as well. they told me that anyone who has another degree will get that letter! ughhh.. so i had to sit in the financial aid office then advisors office for 2 hours just to get a simple paper signed. they told me, "thanks.. you are approved for financial aid and we will send you an e-mail telling you what you get".... yeah.. that was weeks ago! i am getting annoyed since Fall semester starts in less than 2 weeks and I have books to buy.

ugh, i can't WAIT to graduate in 4 months! :banghead:

Oh, and I also picked up my first pair of white scrubs. :D

Just a heads up... Nightingales in DeLand (TJ MAxx shopping center by 2 men & a truck) offers 10% off to students.

Were they a decent price? (If you don't mind me asking)

The pants were 17.00 each and the top was I think 16.00? I had been to another store in Altamonte that had 15% off most items... but they didn't carry petite pants and I would have spent the difference in alterations. Another idea is to find what you want and what sizes fit you in the different brands and order online they are often cheaper that way. Just a thought...

I thought about that but I was worried about getting 'scrub butt'. You know, when you wear white scrub pants and your undies show through? I want to make sure the material is decent. I was thinking about taking a trip to Uniform City in Orlando next month.

Scrub butt, lol. I know what you mean though. I've found that seamless flesh colored underwear usually does the trick regardless of the material/color of the pants. On my scrub search, I was mostly concerned about making sure that no matter how much bending/reaching/squatting/sitting/etc my pants were comfortable and able to cover me. I find it completely unprofessional when some of the nurses at work bend over and their underwear pokes out the top. :icon_roll

Hurray, my scholarship finally got posted!!! I got scared for a minute because I kept logging into 2009-2010 and of course it said 'no aid awarded':banghead:

My scholarship was also there, after checking a million times. :D

So I suppose we are all going to see each other on Tuesday. I have to use my book voucher to get my last book.

Are you guys considering a PDA for clinicals?
