Wow, I didn't realize it was that close. Now I'm kind of scared. :stone

Anyone getting a voice recorder (if you don't already have one?)

Nope, no voice recorder. I have an old one that takes the mini tapes... but I've found that using it causes me not to pay as close attention in class and then suffering because I never make the to listen to the tapes.

My stethoscope arrived yesterday!!! I did my physical today... just have to get my PPD read tomorrow. Now all I need to do is get all my papers together and wait!!!!

Hmm, that's a good point. I never thought about not paying attention. Where did you get your scop from? I just got a BP cuff last night to practice with. I'm horrible at BP's so I know I need help with it. Did you guys get your skills bag yet? Did you see all the awesome stuff in it? We have to take it to the first day of class, right? I ordered my name badge from a uniform store on Mason Ave in Daytona. It was about $8.00 for one. Hasn't come in yet and I ordered it after orientation.

i haven't ordered my skills bag, but they said not to open it until we are in class. But i think when i get it i will open it. How long did it take for it to come?

I am just about done with everything, I am going to order my name tags on the 18 in deland. I have a scope but not a great one.

You have to open the bag (it's just a zipper bag anyway, it's not like it's wrapped in plastic) because that's where the shipping info is. I wanted to make sure I got everything I was supposed to.

I ordered the skills bag but it has not arrived yet. About how long did it take for you to get yours?

I ordered my stethoscope from Jasco's and except for the fact that they use DHL (which has got to be THE WORST shipping company) I had a good experience. I ordered it last Wed and it arrived on Mon. Someone recommended the engraving to me and I went ahead and spent the extra money on that, but really wish I had not. It's super tiny lettering in brown (on black tubing) and to be honest... a steth clip would cover it up if someone really wanted to steal it... so what whas the point?? I didn't get the top model like a lot of my nursing friends but I'm trying to be conservative with my money at this point. It's still a Littmann and quite a good scope though. Plus, if I can't do vitals with a Littmann (even the lesser models) I probably shouldn't be doing them at all ...

It took about 4 busniness days to arrive. The funny thing was that Daytona State College has been stressing that fact that we change our ID's and everything to DSC and the bag's tag says Daytona Beach Community College. :icon_roll

I got a Littmann too. Not the top dollar one either. (Like you said, I don't have top dollar these days) but it will make do I suppose. I heard the same thing about the engraving and when my friend did it, she had the same results. I figured I'd save myself ten bucks and get a steth clip. As far is it walking away, well I was contemplating buy one of those $3 clips to keep it on my at all times but not around my neck.

I really wanted to get a littman but I just can't afford it right now, maybe I will after I get my loans. I don't know why they told us to bring our skills bag on the first day because they this girl i know in the program said that we wont need them for awhile.

Are you guys getting a book voucher monday? Also, has anyone else turned in there scholarship paper work and it still hasn't posted?

I did, which made me a little nervous so I called today, stayed on the phone for over an hour to leave a message and when they called back the person wasn't the nicest. She said they should all be posted by next week.
