Has anyone appied and been accepted into the RN program at DBCC? If so what was your GPA? How were your NET scores?

I was considering it but I don't think I'll have the cash flow for it right now. At least not the one I want. I'm going to see how I feel the first couple of weeks then go from there. That's the one thing that has got me going crazy - I don't know what to expect. I'm pretty excited about Tuesday.

I spoke to a girl in the program and she said we should wait until the second semester, so atleast I can save some cash now!

I see they reduced the aid to reflect 3/4 time. I understand the rationale but I really think that in some programs (i.e. Nursing) that should really be considered full-time. Oh well, what can you do. I'm just happy to be awarded. Anyone else getting slightly nervous?

They do that because we HAVE to have aid for the summer, so that our classes that we take are covered, otherwise we will have to come out of pocket on it.

I am getting a little nervous, not so much yet, but I am sure I will be feelin it on the first day of school.

I was under the impression that we weren't getting any aid for the summer cause it's only 4 credits or something like that. I'm putting a little money from this semester and next to cover it. It would be awesome if they would give us aid for summer, though.

they give aid because you haven't used the entire amount during the school year. I did this last year, I was 3/4 time for fall and spring and then I got 565 dollars for the summer course.

IF you were to go full time both semester then you wouldn't have any aid left, but i believe you are able to get a total of like 24 hours per year.

what is Jump Start?

Jumpstart is a volunteer get together, where they go over basics of NS and also give tips, provide some free gifts and provide lunch and allow us to get to know each other. I am not sure what else, but I can let you know when I get home tomorrow.

I don't think so I think they have done this before. I called to see if the school was open and so far they are, but volusia county closed public schools due to high winds.

I am really looking forward to attending this, i hope they don't cancel it, but I realize safety is more important.
