Anyone applying to Yale GEPN program for Fall 2009?

Hi,

Since there was a very extensive thread last year about application process to Yale, I thought I would start a new thread for 2009 hopefuls. I am working on my application and wanted to know who else chose Yale as one of their options. What program? How is the application process going? Essay writing? Any anxieties? I am applying to the Adult Advanced Practice Nursing but still deciding on the specialty. The hardest part for me is the essay writing as English is not my first language, but I have been working on it for some time now and getting close to finishing the final version. Anyone else wants to share?

I am very nervous. The closer it gets to the actual time when we are supposed to get the interview letters the more nervous I am. I keep telling myself: if it is meant to be, it is meant to be, it is out of my hands now. Does not help much, though. Good luck everyone.

seriously, exactly what i'm saying. though i'm still freaking out. "hey, same odds as vegas, but a much cheaper trip."

I feel the same way. One second I am really positive, thinking about the good points of my application...and the next second I am convinced that I don't have a chance! It is nice to know that other people are feeling the same way. We have to keep encouraging each other!

I'm terrified for the whole process. I'm just so afraid that come May I'll end up high and dry with nowhere to go. When are we supposed to find out whether we got interviews?

Thanks for sharing your opinion, however, sharing your discontent with our worry is neither helpful nor particularly nice. We are all here to support and learn from each other. I'm sorry for making it sound like it was a negative comment. I'm just trying to reassure people that no matter how things turn out it was meant to be and every thing will be alright. I dont want people to have all their hope and dreams in getting into Yale then become depressed if they didn't get it or worry to death when there is no need. I am certainly not as confident as you think I am in getting into nursing school and I do have all my hopes in it, but I know I have to remind my self it is not mentally healthy to be terrified that I won't get in and be sure not to spread my fear amongst others. (I could be wrong. maybe for some people it helps to hear other people nervousness to destress themselves.)

I am nervous. I was more confident when I submitted my application but now I'm not so sure. I've placed so much hope in this program- I really hope I get invited for an interview This is the only program I am applying to at this point so...talk about putting all of your eggs in one basket...

Totally with you there! I'm ever so slightly nervous that my GPA isn't high enough, but then again I can't find any info on their admissions statistics...at least we should be hearing from them soon!
