Hi,
Since there was a very extensive thread last year about application process to Yale, I thought I would start a new thread for 2009 hopefuls. I am working on my application and wanted to know who else chose Yale as one of their options. What program? How is the application process going? Essay writing? Any anxieties? I am applying to the Adult Advanced Practice Nursing but still deciding on the specialty. The hardest part for me is the essay writing as English is not my first language, but I have been working on it for some time now and getting close to finishing the final version. Anyone else wants to share?
Sorry if this is a repost.
Do you think some people will receive letters before the 13th then, or just some will receive letters after!?
I am stressing with class drop deadlines (I don't need these classes if I get into Yale!) and I want to find out asap! I have a huge paper due on Tues. if I don't get in! :(
CAtoDC, one way to think of it is like this: UCSF is a lot less expensive than either JH or Yale (I'm assuming), so think of the deposit as an investment. It's peace of mind. You can only choose from what you have in front of you; if, later, you choose UCSF, you will have saved yourself thousands of dollars, rather than wasted 500. Bidatheraptor, I'm pretty sure we will all be contacted if accepted by Friday the 13th. Those on the west coast will surely get a phone call by then to ensure timely notification. That is, assuming they are still on the timeline they hoped they'd be on...!
So the waiting is starting to drive me nuts. It's great that people are hearing back from other schools. I've only applied to 3 (Yale, MGH, and Emory) and Yale is the first one that I'll be hearing back from, but I have next to NO idea which is my top choice. Ah! Only a few more days!!!!
Hi All,
I wouldn't worry too much... at this point, all that's left to do is pray pray pray. Lol. Angela did say that everyone invited to interview was qualified to participate in the program---it all just comes down to being a good "match" for the school... At the closing of my interview, i was told the following----"You're a great candidateand i'm not sure where you'll fall in the rank but I wish you the best of luck." I'm sure not exactly sure what that means---i'll just focus on the part about being a great candidate and hope for a great Friday the 13th.
Hmm...as I understood it from Angela, letters would be going OUT on the 13th and she was considering following up with a call/email the following week, but only after letters had gone out. So I'm not entirely convinced that we'll be hearing this week...in my mind, I'm thinking early/mid next week. And any earlier notification will be a pleasant surprise!
I suspect the same thing. My stomach is in the knot and if we have to wait till next week I might develop some ulcers.... It is very difficult knowing that they met on the 9th, decided our faith, and now we are suspended in a limbo. I wish we just got emailed, followed up with an official letter and not the other way around. My New Year's resolution was to exercise my patience, but it is not working very well at the moment...
ugh i can't wait to find out! I just cancelled my interview to Duke this friday and sent in my deposit to BC (which was due last Monday), but I can't stop thinking about Yale! Arg, I guess I can only hope for the best! Is anyone else waiting on Yale as their first and final choice?
Yale was the only Advance Practice Nursing program I applied to. I also applied to medical schools but I'm 99.9% sure I'll end up as a CNM. So...I'm putting all my hopes on Yale :)

I did and she said by the 13th we would know of our status. She said they called last year as well as did snail mail. She did not say whether or not they will call this year. Could it be Friday already?????????
