Anyone applying to Yale GEPN program for Fall 2009?

Hi,

Since there was a very extensive thread last year about application process to Yale, I thought I would start a new thread for 2009 hopefuls. I am working on my application and wanted to know who else chose Yale as one of their options. What program? How is the application process going? Essay writing? Any anxieties? I am applying to the Adult Advanced Practice Nursing but still deciding on the specialty. The hardest part for me is the essay writing as English is not my first language, but I have been working on it for some time now and getting close to finishing the final version. Anyone else wants to share?

oh my god i am so nervous and antsy.. i barely got anything done today at work.. when oh when??!!

I am going out of my mind too! Made so many mistakes at work today... So basically nothing got accomplished either.

24-48hrs more to go for us in the metropolitan area depending on when the letters were mailed. :banghead:

My mailman doesn't deliver my mail until 3-4 PM. I am not sure how I am going to get through the day. Every time my phone rings, my heart rate shoots up.

Hopefully, she mailed it out on wed. Then I thought about they had to make a list which probably took a day. Then another day for them to type all the name in congratulations, sorry or wait listed. Then they had to match it with the financial aid package then actually put it in the envelops etc... So maybe they mail it out on thurs.

Financial aid is suppsed to arrive sepraretly from the admissions decision so i'm hoping the letters were posted on Wednesday rather than Thursday... I guess at this point it doesn't matter. The wait has been tortuous.

Has anyone called just to ask when the letters were mailed or how we might find out. Btw, I got a call from UCSF yesterday to discuss why I didn't get an interview and the dean said that my "goals of safe motherhood programming were not aligned with the program's goals of producing primary care specialists." It's good to know in case I don't get into yale and need to reapply. Clearly I just emphasized the wrong thing in my essay. ah well... best of luck to all of us.
