I'm from the bay area too! Palo Alto-ish... It's gonna be my first time leaving california and venturing off to the east coast!

I had a passport picture from a few months ago, and I sent it in along w/ another pic that was 2x3 inches (i think they said they want ones around 2.5x3.5) But just fyi, the passport picture is a lot smaller, like 1.5 x 1.5 or something. I sent it anyway though. And kimiij: I sent mine I think it was either priority or registered mail... I forget. But it's the one where you can track it but they don't have to sign for it. Just so that I could have peace of mind knowing it got there.

I've got my acceptance letter all put together so I can send it off tomorrow! see you guys at Yale!!! -and now i'm off to LA to go celebrate and watch my ucla basketball team in their last home game of the season! wooo!! happy friday everyone!

I GOT IN for the adult psych/mental health!! yayyy!! and el-do, I'm also going to be deciding between Yale and UCSF (if I get in). I don't know how I'm going to decide b/c there's so many different factors but on the interview day, I was definitely much more impressed w/ Yale than with UCSF (in terms of how they presented themselves). I'm sure that whatever decision I end up making will be great and I don't think there's really a way I could make a mistake but it's still a big decision. For now I'm going to enjoy my acceptance and think long and hard about it for the next few weeks... Congrats to everyone that got in! And yayy for the other psych/mh people, I'm so excited!

my interviewer had heard about allnurses.com and asked me what people say on here. Haha. Anyway. I'm just waiting for March 3rd... Good thing February is a short month!

I didn't know when I was hearing back from the other two schools I heard back from-- I just had a general idea. But knowing they've made their decisions and knowing they sent/are sending out the letters today/tomorrow is making me wayyy more stressed out!! not to mention how much I'd love to go to Yale.... gl everyone :)

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to columbia's visitor's day... I agree with you, I kind of want to go just so I can spend some time in NY...

omigosh, phone calls?? it's a good thing, but now I have to be glued to my phone, email [i'm always glued to my email] AND mailbox? goodness.

Hey CAtoDC-- I was also accepted to JHU accelerated FNP and my deposit date is also different, it's for March 3rd. I think maybe it has to do with when we were interviewed? b/c it sounded like it was slightly rolling, so they review applications as they come in. I'm not sure, but that's just my guess...

Hey v517-- I met you at the ucsf interview! I saw in the columbia thread that you got in there, congrats! so did I! but I'm still waiting for yale and ucsf. is ucsf the last you're waiting for?

Hey Suga70-- I've talked to you before on this thread, but hi again! I also applied to the psych track (adult) at Yale. Did you apply to UCSF by any chance? I applied for their dual Adult NP/Psychiatric CNS specialty. Which sounds kind of like what you want to do... but now I'm kind of worried that they don't have enough of a psych emphasis. The other guy that was there at my Yale interview asked them about how they used to have the dual track and why they stopped offering it. And they said it was b/c the students and faculty felt that it was just too much work and like jnd said, it was hard for them to find a role when they graduated that fit both, they usually just ended up focusing on one or the other. Anyway, what was your impression about the Yale psych program? I really loved it there but I'm a cali girl so it will be tough leaving here, but it may be time for a change... That is, if I get in *crosses fingers.*

Hey all! So I was confused about the potluck too. But when I emailed Sandra Esposito about confirming the interview, I asked her about when I can expect the day to be over, so I could plan my flight. She responded to me saying this: "Potluck is tentative for the night of the 20th. So, yes after 2:30 pm (interview) you are welcome to leave." (my interview is at 2:30 in case that's confusing for any of you). And my interview is on the 20th, but I'm going to make the assumption that they will have a potluck on all of the days? I don't know, that's just a guess on my part. Hope that clears it up a little (I don't think it does haha).
