Anyone applying to Yale GEPN program for Fall 2009?

Hi,

Since there was a very extensive thread last year about application process to Yale, I thought I would start a new thread for 2009 hopefuls. I am working on my application and wanted to know who else chose Yale as one of their options. What program? How is the application process going? Essay writing? Any anxieties? I am applying to the Adult Advanced Practice Nursing but still deciding on the specialty. The hardest part for me is the essay writing as English is not my first language, but I have been working on it for some time now and getting close to finishing the final version. Anyone else wants to share?

I am so scared!!! This is the only program I'm applying to really and so I am really nervous. Really hoping and praying I get an interview.

I am scared too. Ever since I read that email regarding the interview emails being sent out next week, my stomach has been tied in a knot. I also have not applied to any other programs other than Yale.

I graduated with my B.S. in Biology three years ago, and have been working in hematopathology at UCSF, as well as volunteering for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation AIDS/HIV/STD Hotline. My GPA is not the best, but my GREs, recommendations, and work/volunteer experience will hopefully make me a competitive candidate for the Pediatric NP track.

I'm a ball of nerves after yesterday's notice, too!! However, I plan to combat "letter anxiety" by throwing myself into the holiday season. :) This weekend: making and canning marmalade for gifts! What are the rest of you doing to ward off anxiety?

Great idea! This weekend I will get and decorate a christmas tree and invite friends over. This will take my mind off of thinking about next week.

I have no choice but to push through the nerves and finish my senior thesis, and survive final exams...no fun distractions here, besides spending waaay too much time on allnurses!

Oh gosh Meredith...I remember trying to finish my senior thesis (with major senioritis!), and you have all this anxiety on top of that! YOU CAN DO IT! I am going to try to focus on work and the huge event that we are planning for next week....

haha, totally got hit with the senioritis like a month ago, lol. Only one more semester! But boy, do I hope this Yale thing works out! It would save me a few years of living at home finishing pre-reqs for other programs :rckn: yeah!

omigosh, somehow I managed to put the application process in the back of my mind this weekend (kept busy with christmas:tree: shopping!). But man, I just got flooded w/ nervousness and anxiety!! goood luck everyoooone!!
