I am applying by February 2011 to be accepted and start the the nursing program in Fall of 2011 at the University of Memphis. Is there anyone else applying for next Fall? If so, I would love to talk to you and have someone else to share the nerves with! Thanks.
They'll be under Registration Status. Just checked mine for you :) I ordered my scrubs yesterday at Identity Factor and my hubby laughed at my for being so excited about my stethoscope. It's a pretty pink and I'm sure yall can understand why I would be excited about getting that thing- I wanted to wear it around my neck all day yesterday. LOL
And I swear I didn't see your response when I posted that...
I'm not sure. I'm hoping prior to our first day, but if not, I'm sure it will be that day. I don't remember my NS friend having those on her schedule last semester.
And my clinicals are Tuesdays. All of my classes are afternoons- start b/t 1-2 except clinicals. Also, my Patho, Intro to Med/Surg and Pharm are at the end of the week.
quick question--- I turned in my health packet on Friday. Assuming the permits will be posted for me to register tomorrow, where will they be on the website? Will they by on the page that I click on to do a class search? Sorry I am just wondering if I will be able to find them easily after I click "add/drop class" Thanks!
they will be under "registration status" from the spectrum website. on that page you should see your classification (junior/senior), and i think it should say "nursing" under degree/major and then your permits will be listed and u need to write down those six #s to paste into the box on the "add/drop a class" page...
Edit:
*Sorry didnt realize someone already answered the question!!
Hey guys! I just got my schedule and it has "TBA" on it also. Have you all ordered your scrubs, scope, shoes, etc? I haven't yet but know I need to get to it. Does anyone know how much books are going to cost for this semester? I am trying to budget and plan ahead. Hopefully if they are too expensive at the bookstore I can buy them online cheaper.
I am so super excited but scared at the same time. I am just ready to start my future!!
Oh, did you all hear about tuition going up this fall? As if it isn't already expensive enough!!
Hello all! I just finished first semester in the spring. You don't have to actually go to the classes that say TBA. It really is just a built in practice time if you want to practice certain skills you need to work on. That was confusing for me too! I did not go during those assigned times though.
Also if I remember correctly my books were around $1000 but they were all new. I think first semester is the biggest cost for books (thankfully!)
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask! Good luck everyone!
Thanks for clarifying this!
I've gotten my scrubs, but I still have to get shoes, t-shirts, and socks. I'm so very excited since I've gotten my childcare situation worked out. I can finally start to believe this is going to happen! Has anyone started reviewing their A&P, Micro and Nutrition yet?
@kwhitworth-- Thanks for the info. I'm really excited and it's nice to find out that the TBA classes are just for practice and not a required attendance. Goodluck and thanks again!
p.s.- How are you liking the program? I am married with no kids, just wondering if I will have a life. Some say yes, others say no. Thanks :)

Are they really strict about shoes? Can they have a symbol (like Nike, New Balance, etc.) on them? thanks
Thanks for responding!!
I was also wondering about the shoes and symbols on them. I am kind of confused about the days we don't have labs...what are we suppose to wear to lectures? I read my handout and one of the questions is "What is meant by professional dress?" I am ASSUMING that we are suppose to wear professional clothes hence no blue jeans...am I right? Any input would be nice. I am just trying to get all my ducks in a row. Thanks guys!!

Nevermind, I figured out the permits and registered. Anyone else with their clinicals on Thursday? The only thing I'm wondering about is where it says TBA on our schedules. I'm sure they went over this in the preorientation but I can't remember what it means as far as when we will find out when we have class during that time. Anyone know when the TBA times will be made known to us?
