Anyone applying to University of Memphis Loewenberg for Fall of 2011?

U.S.A. Tennessee

I am applying by February 2011 to be accepted and start the the nursing program in Fall of 2011 at the University of Memphis. Is there anyone else applying for next Fall? If so, I would love to talk to you and have someone else to share the nerves with! Thanks.

@Ravenshelly: I believe they told us at the pre-orientation that we can wear whatever we like on lecture only days. We are to wear scrubs anytime we have a lab or clinicals and professional dress will just be for days we are specially told about for when we are touring or rounding at a hospital. I would verify that with someone more knowledgeable than myself, but that was how I understood it.

Thanks for responding! I lost my paper that stated what items we needed and what brand. I know that we have to have a Littman Steth but did they specify what brand we can use for blood pressure cuff and pen light? Does it matter what color the organizer, scissors, and watch?

Thanks a ton!

@coonkine....I'm wondering about the shoe thing too, so if you hear anything let me know if you don't care. Thanks so much!!

Well that is nice to know...thanks :)

Are they really strict about shoes? Can they have a symbol (like Nike, New Balance, etc.) on them? thanks

I got a really comfortable pair of Landau shoes from the store...they were about $40 but well worth it.

How is everyone enjoying their last summer of freedom? :D

I am going school supply shopping in a couple of weeks and didn't know if any of the returning students following this thread had any thoughts on any definite necessities besides what was on the list. I'm SO excited and nervous! :yeah:

I'm excited too. I will be going shopping soon as well. Finally have the $ saved up to get the necessities.

@hayleyh31- what white shoes are you getting? I actually found some white tennis shoes that are cute, comfy, and do NOT look like a geriatric shoe. The Reebok Easytone Reenew Toner! On sale on Endless.com:yeah:

I haven't really looked for shoes yet. I'm going to the outlets in Tunica to go back to school shopping for my oldest and I was planning on looking then. If I don't find something down there, I may go to landau or the new balance store. I really hate white tennis shoes. Lol

do they have to be completely white or can they have some gray too?? that would be a little better lol
