anyone applying to the simmons dix scholars program?

Did I completely miss the deadline for the program? Was it January 10th? I was planning on applying for the 18-month Dix program. I really hope I can still submit.

are you planning on applying for the 18-month program that starts this may? i'm pretty sure that jan 10 was priority review for nursing, but it's probably not too late to apply for rolling admissions.

you should contact the admissions department @ simmons - they are extremely helpful and they will be able to guide you towards your correct application deadline.

Jan 10th was the priority review for a July start. I spoke with my admissions couselor 2 weeks ago and she also confirmed there are no spots left for the 2 year program as that program is designed for current Simmons students. I am not a current Simmons student and also hold a BS, so she said that coupled with my pre-requisite GPA and resume, I am a strong candidate for that program (I hope!). She stated that I should hear back by the middle of February. You can still apply, but it will be for rolling admissions. Best of luck!!

I also applied to the Dix 18 Month program. I am very nervous about my application! I haven't heard much about the program to really get a feel of what my chances are of getting in. All the programs require a minimum GPA of 3.0 but then it seems like nearly everyone applying has GPAs around 3.8! What gives? My overall GPA is 3.02 and my pre-requisite GPA is 3.44. I have a BS from Northeastern Univ in Neuroscience and strong recommendations from my professors. I can't wait to hear back, the wait is driving me crazy!

I applied to the Simmons 18-month Dix Scholars program. So we are supposed to hear in the second half of February? I applied for the January 10th priority review...

where did you hear that we're going to hear back in the 2nd half of Feb? I just assumed w/ rolling admission we'd hear back w/in the normal 2-3 weeks but I haven't heard back yet either. I mailed my stuff on Jan 7.

i read in another thread that simmons Accelerated BSN decisions were made last week, and they should have been sent out either last week or this week. has anyone heard anything? i've been compulsively checking my mail since last week.

my roommate just told me i had a big envelope from simmons. i had her open it, and i was accepted to the 18month program! everyone else who applied, check your mailboxes and good luck!

I just got accepted to the 18 month program as well!!!!! I received my acceptance letter yesterday and could not be more excited!!!! Did your letter also state something about a May start date as well as a July start date? I have completed all prerequisites, so I am not sure what that meant. I will call them on Monday, but just wanted to see if anyone else's letter read the same thing. Looks like we will be classmates! Message me and we can chat...yay! Congrats to you!

hey kerri,

congrats on your acceptance! my letter did say that i was accepted to start in may as well as accepted to the specific program. i think the program starts in july, we were just accepted for the may/summer deadline. i have to call next week to make sure that they accepted all my prereqs. the whole prereq process was so stressful! i'm taking my last two prereqs right now at a community college, and i really hope they count. are you definitely going to simmons, or are you waiting to hear back from other schools? hopefully i'll see you in july!

Hi, I applied to the program as well but after the priority deadline. They've asked me to fill out all kind of financial documents, student verification form ect. Is this a normal process whether you are accepted or not?? I've never had to fill out all this info before unless I was accepted into a program.

i was accepted to the 18-month program as well. my letter said the same thing about may. were either of you able to find out more about your pre-requisites? i am still waiting to hear back. are you definitely going to go? let me know!
