Hi Vepeters... My teachers gave me the OK too! So it looks like I'll be going as well. :-) I talked to an academic advisor the other day and they said the contract is due on the 31st of this month but the rest (fingerprint, CPR cert., and health records) are due on April 16 as indicated on the letter. I'm still trying to figure out the finger print part. My husband and I hit a bit of a snag on our plans to move to Flagstaff. He was laid off yesterday and we were really counting on him being able to keep that job since he was able to work remotely before. So now we might be faced with the option of living apart for awhile if he can't find anything in the Arizona area. *sigh* I volunteered to forego the program but everyone including my husband has told me it'll be stupid to pass up the opportunity. So I will be going to AZ alone or not come May.

Congrats Katsie! It's pretty exciting how there are a few of us who might be heading to Flagstaff in a couple of months. Today, the reality did set in that this is happening all so soon. My plan for the prereqs is to contact my profs. IMMEDIATELY. I'm thinking of writing a carefully worded e-mail to explain to them my situation and I'm hoping that since this is a really good opportunity ahead of me that they'd understand. I'll let you know if I'm successful or not. I'm also thinking of talking to NAU on Monday and explain to them the situation. I'm sure they've been faced with this before and I'll see if they have any recommendations. I'm still waiting myself for 2 other schools, both starting in the Fall though... So if I hear back soon from one of them, then I might end up going to school for that term. However, I have dreamt of going to NAU. I think the big draw for me is the small class size, the atmosphere (I love Sedona and it's nice that it's close enough), and I've read from previous posts that there are possible scholarships available for the students. I also like the fact that the rent is going to be cheap for me and my husband when compared to where I live now. Katsie, the packet contains the offer letter but I did not see any info on financial aid. I've been going to their website trying to figure that out myself, but I did compare the overall cost of NAU to other schools and it looks like to finish the program, the range is between 30K to 50K... Still cheaper than if I had gone to a school East Coast like Rochester (which is 70K I believe). Perhaps someone else can chime in on the actual cost of NAU. It also contains some info on what we need to submit by March 31 (health records etc.). So there was talk before about the program being 12 months long instead of 18... is that the case for this May? Hi Vepeters... Cool, you live in SF also. I actually live in Burlingame. Where are you from? Yeah, I'm hoping something will work out for me in terms of the prereqs. I'm fairly positive it will. I really wanna go to NAU, but I am still waiting to hear back from a couple of more schools, so we'll see. But odds are, I'll be attending NAU.

I got my packet in the mail today too and I got in! YAY! I still can't believe it. I'm also in the same boat as the other couple of posters here. I have prereqs I'm still finishing which do not wrap up until towards the end of May but I'm thinking that it'll all work out. I'm planning on begging and talking to my professors about it. I do need to definitely figure out lots of logistics still but I'll worry about that when I'm off my "high". I can't wait to meet all of you when I move to Flagstaff! Hi Everyone... I inquired today about the current applications stats and I found out that there were 60 applicants and they will be accepting 30. I'm definitely scared 'cause I'm not sure if I'm gonna be one of the top 30 or bottom 30. Sigh... They plan on sending out offers/rejections in the first part of next month. Good luck to all of us!

I'm a total Californian, but I do love Arizona. My husband and I got married there last year (in Sedona) and we're hoping to spend time there--- so hopefully NAU will be the place for me. Are you applying anywhere else?

Well shots are required by all schools, so I'm pretty ready to get them. :-) So with 95 being the top score, does that mean anyone who got below shouldn't hope to get accepted anymore? dkittle: I'm currently in San Francisco. Where are you from?

kvsoccer1813: that's a very good question... i interpreted it as me, compared to the class that took it for NAU. I read from previous threads that each school can actually design the HESI however they want, for instance, NAU chose to test candidates on 9 sections, whereas other schools can choose to test using greater emphasis on Physical Sciences. I do hope we all get in too! I wonder how many people they're admitting to the program. I read in some previous topics that they took 30 in last year's class, which is not very many at all. What other schools did others apply for?

I'm an older candidate... Unfortunately, I wasn't that serious when I was getting my degree and ended up getting a low GPA (let's just say it was close to 3.0). I have returned to school in the last couple of years though, mostly renewing my courses and prerequisites so I now have a 3.5 average. I'm sure they're gonna calculate everything together, so in that case, I'm not sure how I'll fair well at all. I took the HESI early this month and ended up getting a 93. My Anatomy and Math and Reading are definitely way above average compared to the others who took the test (I just looked up my scores on Evolve). At this point, I really am hoping that my years of experience in Research and fatty resume' will help me get in--- hopefully they'll see that I'm more serious now as an older student. I also would like to study in Arizona--- I simply love that state! I really don't think you have anything to worry about kvsoccer1813. Your stats sound great.

The A&P section was not too hard. I did get some skeletal and muscular systems questions and definitely cellular function questions. I would recommend grabbing a copy of the HESI A2 study guide. It really helped me out. I ended up getting a 93 thanks to the study materials. Did I completely miss the deadline for the program? Was it January 10th? I was planning on applying for the 18-month Dix program. I really hope I can still submit.

Congratulations Lindsay! I actually interviewed on 12/17 and I've been hoping they contact me soon. I really don't have much hope anymore about getting in, but I did apply to other schools. At this point, I really just want to hear from them- whether rejection, wait list, or whatever, just so I can move on and be done with it.

In case you want to know, I spoke with******** today and she said they're notifying individuals regarding their acceptance between today and end of next month. So it's definitely going to be a long wait for some of us. *sigh* I'm seriously getting anxious. Most of the programs I applied for start in May but it seems most of them do not notify until late (some even until March). It seems so little time to make arrangements for things like living situation, wrapping up current job, moving, etc. Oh well. I'm sure many of us are on the same boat. Good luck to everyone!
