Anyone applying to MJC or San Joaquin Delta College?

Published

I'm applying to MJC and Delta for Fall '10. Just wondering if anyone else out there is also applying? :)

I don't think that there is a requirement for graduation. I think that the basic requirements were met when you did your pre-req's. From my memory, for chemistry we had to have a minimum math requirement. I was looking over it myself...do you think we have to have POLSC & HIST (3rd semester)? Or is it just either?

From the way I'm reading it, it seems like you need a POLSC & HIST. I have already taken POLSC, History, and psych. Based on what I see I need to take SOCIO, Speech, and one of the humanities electives. I'm already taking speech this summer, so that only leaves the other two. If that's really all I need, I'm in good shape! At LMC I was also required to take two PE classes and intermediate algebra added on to what Delta is requiring, so this is even easier for me :) I really do need to make an appointment with a counselor just to double check everything.

ATI should have already sent my TEAS score and I'm waiting for my official transcripts and letter from my previous employer to arrive so that I can submit all my stuff. I think I'll bring it down in person so that I can also see the campus. I have no idea where it's at!

I probably should meet w/a counselor too. I thought that I only needed Sociology, but I guess I might need POLSC too. Bummer! I was hoping to have a pretty relaxing summer before next Fall! I'll be getting my transcripts tomorrow and I'll probably hand deliver everything (just to be sure). :)

You need either Political Science or a History class. I recommend that you meet with a counselor ASAP and get your transcripts submitted for evaluation. I did my pre-req's at Modesto and I turned in my transcripts for evaluation in January and I still do not have an answer on which classes I will need to take to finish with my degree. Some classes are not comparable and they will make you take them at Delta. (I know more info to stress over!!) Sorry!! But better to get ahead of the game right?

To get to Delta, take I-5 to March Lane. Go East on March Lane to Pershing. Turn left on Pershing. The next stop light will be at Delta College street, turn right. Drive around till you get to the Student Services building. You will turn in your stuff there....Unless they have instructed you to turn it into the Nursing Department.....

I have a friend who also got the congratulations email from Delta. I'm starting to wonder if everyone got it?! lol

I am getting ready to apply in May for MJC as well, and this will be my 5th time applying. It's crazy that we worked so hard to get out pre reqs done and then we have to wait so long to get into the program. Good luck, I hope we both get in!:D

P.S. Did you take Math 90 since they added that as a pre req?

Yes, I even took Statistics just to be sure. LOL :)

I can't believe you've applied 4 times already!! I hope we both get in for sure this time!! :D

I'm sorry :( Hopefully, you'll get good news from the other school you applied to! When will you find out? I'm still hoping I will get into my 1st choice school, but that's a lottery and my chances are incredibly slim...
