With only 4 weeks until we can start applying, I thought that it would be nice to start a new thread so that we can all keep in touch, pass along information, and post our stats.
Hi,
Does anyone know how the GPA for our nursing program courses work? If we have taken classes at Delta previously (prereqs and others), do those grades get combined into our GPA ..or do we have a seperate GPA for the nursing program courses from this point? Just wanted to check since I didn't do so well in my classes from a few years ago at Delta and was hoping to start off on a fresh slate in the ADN program.
I just got accepted into the program and will be starting this semester. I am worried about having a bad over rall GPA because of classes that I have taken at Delta in the past. I really want to have a good GPA when I graduate from the ADN program so that I will have an easier time applying for futher education. But I wasn't sure if the ADN courses will make up a seperate GPA on our transcripts or be just added to the running GPA from previous courses at Delta college.
Congratulations Chaigirl!!! Can't wait till we meet. I am from a different school so I had to have a transcript evaluation done. When I received the results they had plugged in my class grades from my previous schools so I am thinking that you will have a running gpa from courses previously taken. Worry about doing a great job in nursing school, make contacts at the hospital where you do the clinicals and don't sweat your previous grades, we have lots to worry about in nursing school, but we are going to do great and have a fabulous time doing it!! As for further education, Some schools only want relevant classes and some want total gpa's too. You got into delta, your gpa can't be that bad. See you soon!!!
Hi Chaigirl!! I completely agree with SBNRN2B...just do the best you can and concentrate on the program!

I got an email from the teacher for the English 33A class and she said she'll add me - yay!!! And good thing she sent the email, since class starts on MONDAY, not Tues like I thought. So I'll see everyone that's taking that class in a few days.
