With only 4 weeks until we can start applying, I thought that it would be nice to start a new thread so that we can all keep in touch, pass along information, and post our stats.
If your in the Stockton area there is a store called Foot Solutions. They used to be on Miracle Mile (Pacific Ave). This is where I went yesterday but they are now a clearance center, unfortunately with not much to pick from. However, the sales person said they have a full store on Pacific and Robinhood, very close to the college, in the Stone Creek Village Shopping Center. I'm gonna go check'm out shortly also REI is there and they may have some good quality shoes as well. I will report back this afternoon. If your in the Sac area Foot Solutions is up there too. I know they are pricey but perhaps try them on, then find them cheaper online?
CaRNwnt2b & SBNRN2B - thanks for the info on shoes. I'm going to check out the stores you mentioned. Hopefully I'll find something. I hate buying shoes more than anything!
SBNRN2B, appreciate the input on the stethoscope - I'm leaning towards that one myself.
kwade, congrats on getting those great xmas gifts! You're ready now!!
Hi All
So I went to the Foot Solution, REI, and Fleet...(near Trader Joes). At the Foot Solution they showed me some pretty pricey shoes. The first I tried was the Spira they have spring encased within the heel, felt like a great shoe, just for 159.00 I just was quite sold..
I then did try the New Balance 1442 and found it quite comfy they wanted 99 for them but heres a link to sear for 75.00, the only prob with sears is that they only have med (B) width for those of us who need a roomier shoe.
I then went to REI and they had nothing (no white shoes at all...duhh) and the Fleet place didn't seem to have any white shoes either but I was only able to scan because they were packed! I was really surprised by how busy they were. So Maybe I swing back by later...I live down the street.
Thanks everyone for all your inputs it is mucho helpful!
CaRNwnt2b - It doesn't surprise me that you didn't see any white shoes. This is a specialty store, you are fitted for the shoes. They typically don't have all the shoes out that they carry because they want you to buy the best fit so you enjoy your sport not the best look, cause sometimes best fit is really ugly, lol! I'm gonna email the owner to ask if they have the white brooks instock, thanks for the heads up.
Have any of you had those rocking shoes before? I remember a few years ago before they got really popular my boyfriend and dad got some MBT shoes from Foot Solutions, basically the rocking shoe. They were suppose to really help with posture, weight, back problem and etc., they were also like $300 a pair, anyways after wearing it for about a few days they both complained that it hurt their back too much, so they stopped wearing it. I think the guy at foot solution did tell them it would be uncomfortable at first and that they had to get use to it. Anyways now the shoe just sits in the closet.

I went on Sat looking for the last couple things I needed. I went to Life Uniform in Stockton looking a stethoscope since I still need to purchase but couldn't decide if I should get the Classic II or Cardiology one. They had a couple brands of shoes, Rockers and Nurse Mates, but I didn't like any I tried on. I usually wear New Balance shoes since my feet are wide and I tried one store but they didn't have the right size. In the end a lot of shopping and no purchases - lol.
