Anyone Applying to Delta College for Spring 2011

Published

With only 4 weeks until we can start applying, I thought that it would be nice to start a new thread so that we can all keep in touch, pass along information, and post our stats.

AlyKat,

Don't worry about the extra charge for NSO for upgrading our policy coverage. I just checked my account and I now have 1/6 and it says I don't owe any fees...so I guess she was wrong. Those ladies don't sound very happy there at that place...I hate calling them!

I have a question about the background check. Do they count speeding tickets because my all of my results are in except the criminal background, which says "PENDING." Did anyone else have this?

Brit- I'm glad it wasn't just me bc they seemed so rude! Thanx for the info...a little relief for me

slrberry-

I doubt they wud count speeding tickets..did ur drug test results come through bc I knw the background check won't show if that's not done

Thanks! Thats probably what it is then. I had my drug test done today and they said results from the drug test would take 24 to 48 hours, so maybe that is the delay.

slrberry, we don't need to have our drug test done by friday, do we? I hope not. It's hard enough trying to get the results from my doctor by the deadline and working f/t at the same time!

Im not sure if it needs to be in by Friday, but there is so much to be done, I decided to have it done when I had time. It looks like it is part of the background check though, so I assumed that it needed to be in by Friday.

Hi Everyone...I was lucky enough to go to Delta's RN Graduation (pinning ceremony) this evening. Very nicely done...Two years and that will be us! I brought my 8 year old daughter with me, we had front row seats. Very moving and exciting, especially for one about to take the journey they just completed! :nurse:

CaRNwnt2b, Sounds awesome!! How many students did they graduate?

RNbound i'm with slrberry I would think the drug test has to be done friday. Its not too bad tho all you have to do is go to their lab and they submit the results to your certified profile account, no doctor calls on this one! It came in relatively fast, like 24 hours for me.

CaRNwnt2 How exciting!! So did it increase your anticipation of starting to uncontrollable levels? lol. I know it would me!

It looks like they graduated 80! And my friend said that is what they started with so pretty impressive! Very emotional. It was done in their theater and was a packed house! And Yes it makes me even more crazy about starting this journey!

So when you log on to the background place you can access your background check. Mine said something about downloading it, is that to open it to take a look at it? I didn't want to mess with anything, I figured I would just up load the required docs and make sure the drug test arrived.

SBNRN2B-I think I'm gonna go on the 20th to the fitting, so I can get them ordered! Although it kinda makes me wanted to wait til you go so I can meet my new Chocolate/Shot buddy

CaRNwnt2b - I downloaded mine, curiousity kills the cat sometimes, lol, it gives you a code to go onto certified background to look at it. It doesn't say much... pending or complete. It was kinda crazy for me. Its doing a background check on someone with my name that lives in LA. I've never lived in LA. I emailed the office about it and haven't heard anything. I'm hoping that person is a good girl too and its a non-issue. It would be nice to meet my chocolate/shot buddy early, but with this time of year and all the things we have to get acomplished in such a short amount of time, I completely understand! Gotta fit things in where we can as soon as we can!

Did everyone take the survey? I called and made an appt with the resource specialist on Monday at 10am and then I am getting fitted after.
