Anyone Applying to Delta College for Spring 2011

Published

With only 4 weeks until we can start applying, I thought that it would be nice to start a new thread so that we can all keep in touch, pass along information, and post our stats.

Good job slrberry! I applied for SCC & ARC yesterday, but I still need to send in my documents.

Hi everyone! I applied for SCC and ARC yesterday as well, but still need to send in my documentation. Good job on the TEAS test, Slrberry! I'm taking mine tomorrow. I don't know what to expect and am really nervous. Thanks for posting the info from the counselor.

THANKS Roxy and RNBound

The TEAS was not bad at all. The only problem I had, was just not enough time on the math. I really had to rush at the end to finish it, and there were about 2 that I had to guess on so that I would not run out of time. My lowest score was on the science, of course, but I scored around the national average. There were many science questions, that I just guessed on and didn't waste time re-reading because I knew that I didn't know the answer and more time wouldn't make a difference.

RNBound, let us know how it goes tomorrow. Are you taking it in the morning or the afternoon

I took the TEAS this morning and passed with 82.9! I agree, slrberry, that there wasn't enough time for the math! I didn't realize I was running out of time until it was too late and I left quite a few blank. That was my lowest section, which is crazy cause I love math and usually do really well. Oh well... at least it's over.

Congrats RNBound! That's awesome!

I took it again today and scored 4% higher which is an extra 4 points! I almost didn't go again today because I was ok with my first score, but I'm glad I went. I also just realized that I added an extra 2 points to my overall score, so now instead of the 78.5 I though that I would have, I now have 76.5.

slrberry, that's wonderful! Sounds like you have a GREAT chance to get in. My points are only 55.5 unfortunately. I don't have any of the extra points. I know it's low, but I'm going to try anyways.... you never know!

Hi GUYS, I am going to apply for delta college as well. I am wondering what is the deadline for Spring 2010 application. I have scheduled to take teas at CSU, Sac on 7/10. I hope that deadline is not till oct 15.

Congrats on passing the TEAS slrberry & rnbound! Rnbound, yes it definitely won't hurt to try.

Hello Harry. The applications will open Sept 10 & will close on Sept 20. When are you taking your TEAS?

Hi Harry. Are you a current Sac State student or are you just taking your TEAS there? Delta has the shortest application period, its only a week and a half, but it's good in that we'll know where we stand much sooner.

RNBound, I would definately still apply. I think that many students are still really confused about the new math requirements, and some don't realize that they now have more to take it, so I wouldn't be surprised if less students apply. Also, considering the fact that they went through over 30 students on the alternate list up until one week AFTER classes started, you have a chance.

I am worried as I don't have too high score on the addmission criteria. I have counted already. I'm applying to scc and arc as well. I hope I will get into some program at least.

Thanks Roxy, for info.

I already take teas, but my score is not very good. I was trying to give a second shot. But unfortunately I can't.

I am currently attending Sierra and SacState

I read somewhere that the lowest score that was admitted last semester was 64.5. Am I right. or it was the lowest score who was in waitlist/ alternative...kind of confused.

When were you planning to take your teas again? You posted 7/10, but I think that was a mistake. If you meant 9/10 then you can still take it since you will get your score right away. You should definitely try because slrberry brought up some good points of why there would be less students applying this year. Good luck!
