anyone applying to CU for 2010?

Published

Is anyone going to put in their application this fall for Spring or Summer 2010?. I'm excited about finally getting to put in my application, I'll be attending the August 1st info session and be applying for the summer session. I will still be taking pre-reqs in the spring and I was so relieved when I found out I don't have to have everything finished to apply. My GPA is currently 4.0 and I should (I hope!) be able to keep that up until next spring. I'll be done all my sciences at the end of this summer semester and only have a couple math, a history and a pile of social sciences to do (music appreciation anyone!). The admission essay is making me nervous, but I have lots of time to work on it - I hope my GPA helps me out and they don't rely on essay alone.

I'd love to be in contact with anyone looking to get into CU.

BTW - I was going to go to DSN, but changed my mind since I decided to retake some old classes, and since we're paying for our own kids to go to college at the same time, needed to keep the cost down.

The nerves are getting to me too. I pretty much have lost hope on getting that final email about my app is done being processed and ready for final review..I am now just waiting on the letter in the mail towards the end of the month.. So many people keep asking me, "So have you heard back from that school you applied to?"...Ugh...I am ready already..so many of my plans really depend on what this acceptance/rejection letter says, I am sure this is the same for all of you too..:banghead:

I'm in the same boat as you Stellagirl... I have only applied to CU and don't have a plan B as of right now. Hooray for putting all our eggs in one basket!! :) I'm really hoping that I get that acceptance letter so I don't have to worry about it. Everyone keeps asking me what my plans are for this summer and inviting me to do different things but I have told everyone that I'm not making ANY plans until I get a letter from CU! Only a few more weeks... hopefully.

I spoke with my advisor yesterday and she informed me that they were HOPING to send out decision letters by Today...3/24/2010. I hope this snow storm isn't delaying anything!

Good luck everyone!

Thanks for the update Lyndx! Looks like that campus will be closed today. So perhaps they will mail them out tomorrow? It's getting SOOOOOO close! :) :) :) I really hope they can get them in the mail tomorrow. I guess I really won't get the "ready for final review email" oh well, just bring on the yay or nay!

The campus only delayed opening today until 10am Stellagirl0512, so they may be able to get them in the mail today. We may even be able to find out by Saturday. Ooooh, I feel like I have a lump in my chest. :uhoh21:

Thank you so much, Lyndx! Wouldn't it be great to find out by the weekend? Woohoo!

Are you sure about them having a delayed opening Sand_dollar? There emergency line for closures for University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz is 1-877-INFO-070 (1-877-463-6070). It also says on channel 9 News's website that they are closed. http://www.9news.com/weather/severe_weather/cancellations_closings/default.aspx

I really hope you are right...Having decision letters in the mail would be fantastic!

I saw on the news this morning that they are closed today. Unless the wonderful souls in the admissions department decided we all had enough waiting, and decided to come in anyway to get our letters out! :) Ha!

Thanks for the welcome Sand_dollar! Here's to hoping we can all get our acceptance letters by this weekend and have a long anticipated celebratory cocktail, or 5!

I know that those of you who have been accepted have posted your stats (ie, GPA cum and pre-req, etc).

For those of you who are still waiting do you mind posting a brief stat for a future 2012 UC Denver applicant? Also, how many "volunteer" hours in a healthcare field did you have upon applying?

Thank you!

Sorry guys, I guess I had older info. :nuke: The last tweet I got was they would just be opening late, well that's a bummer. Just tack on another day to the wait! Ugh.

Amen to that cdids - I think I will make a whole blender of frozen strawberry margaritas just for myself! And forget a glass, I'm just going to buy a large straw and work my way down! :lol2:

So the letters are going out today? I would love to get it by the weekend seeing as I'm leaving on Sunday for a week. It would be perfect :) The wait is almost over, may we all get in!!!
