anyone applying to CU for 2010?

Published

Is anyone going to put in their application this fall for Spring or Summer 2010?. I'm excited about finally getting to put in my application, I'll be attending the August 1st info session and be applying for the summer session. I will still be taking pre-reqs in the spring and I was so relieved when I found out I don't have to have everything finished to apply. My GPA is currently 4.0 and I should (I hope!) be able to keep that up until next spring. I'll be done all my sciences at the end of this summer semester and only have a couple math, a history and a pile of social sciences to do (music appreciation anyone!). The admission essay is making me nervous, but I have lots of time to work on it - I hope my GPA helps me out and they don't rely on essay alone.

I'd love to be in contact with anyone looking to get into CU.

BTW - I was going to go to DSN, but changed my mind since I decided to retake some old classes, and since we're paying for our own kids to go to college at the same time, needed to keep the cost down.

I just found this site. You all have me worried now because I received that email at the end of January and my last name begins with P. The waiting is so hard!

Haven't had an email either.

Also, the email that said my file was ready for final review said admission decision letters would be mailed out mid to late March.

Stellagirl, I am an "M." :) We could very well be in the same boat, or we could very well not be receiving another notification, per news from Limeade.

Limeade, thank you so much for your post. I wonder why they told us about all these notification emails that would be coming down the pipe that we don't need to be looking for (and consequently freaking us out when we think we should be getting something!). Ah well. Based on the correspondence from your counselor, we can all sit tight.

I am so grateful I have spring break next week so I can be distracted by some serious fun, versus stalking the postman everyday. It is so great to have this forum to share information! Thank you all so much for your contributions during this application process.

Good luck to everyone!

Thank you again for applying to the College of Nursing, University of Colorado Denver for Summer 2010 and Spring 2011.

We are in the process of completing the initial review of all applications. We expect to complete the first review by February 2nd, 2010. If you have not already received an email regarding the status of your application, you should receive one by February 2nd.

You should also receive a final email by mid March indicating we have completed the final processing of your file. Decision letters will be mailed out around the end of March.

Thank you,

The Office of Student Affairs & Diversity

That's the last I received on 1/21

Yes! I received the same one in January. Ah well. We shall see what the next two weeks bring!

actually, I didn't mean to make it sound like we didn't need to be waiting for the e-mails, just that I wasn't going to hold my breath :-) The advisor I corresponded with didn't seem to understand which e-mail I was referring to when I asked about my final review status. It seems like everyone I know, both from this forum and personally, is very confused about what is going on. I too find it strange they would send out an initial mass e-mail with a timeline, then not stick w/ the timeline given. I would have thought they'd want to give an accurate update via mass e-mail to reduce the number of inquiries about status!

anyway, I will post if I receive any news, and want to wish everyone here the best of luck. Not much longer to wait.

I am in the same boat. I received the email last January as well.

Question: does anyone know what percentage of out of staters they allow into the CU program? Someone told me it was a pretty high percentage compared to other schools. I live in Colorado and was just curious.

The wait is killing me! I guess we are all feeling anxious. Good luck to everyone!

So, does anyone know... should we be on the lookout for a thin or a thick(er) envelope? What will be in it, just a congrats letter or loads of paperwork? Just curious. Luckily spring break is this coming week for me, but instead of doing anything interesting (or fun, like stalking the postman!) I'm just using the time to get ahead in my classes. I seriously need a life! :lol2:

this is all starting to make me feel a little ill...the nerves are getting to me.

My acceptance letters (from the other schools) came in thin envelopes. One page, "We are happy to inform you.." In fact, I received an e-mail the same day or even one day prior with an electronic version of the letter. Info packages were to come later. With the other schools, they wanted to receive the commitment/reservation fee before they sent you paperwork. However, with CU being so close to program start, it might be different and they might send the complete package right away, although I'd still say wait for the thin letter. ;)

My acceptance letter in late November came in an 8 1/2 x 11 envelope with information on accepting/declining and immunizations. The above poster is right though as it may include more information as the time gets closer! I wish you all the best of luck!!!
