how was it? can you share your experiences? I heared there's a height requirement? Did they already pick applicants that are for training?
Do you think it is an advantage if I indicate in my resume that I already passed my NCLEX? Someone told me that it is not in St. Lukes prospective, Is it true?
hi raine, you better not include that info, I mean in an employer's perspective, i might thnk that you might not stay long enough in the institution you are applying. better impress them by giving them assurance that you'll be adhering to their contract.
just my two cents... goodluck!
Core competencies, confidence and fluency; wow thanks ianjel!do nurses with hopital experience have an advantage? You see I don't have any!
In your opinion how do you rate the difficulty level of the questions?
I appreciate you're response, thank you and congratulations!
me either, i still dont have any experience.. i was hired by a hospital here in our province, and i have started for a week, but the thing there is that one week was just the orientation period that's why i cant say that i have gained hospital experience for that matter..
after that week, i received a call from st.luke's, and when i was interviewed, they immediately told me that i passed the interview so i resigned from the hospital here in our province..
il be starting on october.. because the september batch is already full..
i think if i answered the questions purely based on what I've learned from the books, i think you too can!:loveya:
Dress appropriately because even when submitting resumes the guards take note of your attire and how you relate to them. If you seem arrogant and rude they may refer you back to the HR and you may not get that call.
What does that mean? The guard has a say if we can meet with the HR? When I passed my resume, a couple of applicants were even in their jeans.
Ha - I also wondered why the guard skimmed my resume, and even commented about it.
By the way, application for staff nurses in SLMC-GC has been temporarily halted - I think they had enough trainees for now. The staff nurse applicants weren't given the application form to fill-up. The guard just gets the resume, and, as others said, wait for three to four weeks for the HR to call.
Good luck to all! While waiting you might brush up your skills or review for the interview, or complete your documents.
its funny to think that even the guards act like as if they are from HRD..
you really have to be in business attire when applying, dress to impress.but of course its not only about the physical aspect. you should have excellent communication skills, must be fluent in english,& most important of all is your nursing knowledge&skills.
^^ I don't think they temporarily stopped accepting applicants for their Global City branch. My friend just took the IQ test yesterday (Sept2) together with 14 other applicants. I'm really worried though because I submitted my resume together with that friend who took the test. She received a text message from the HR dep't. while I didn't get any feedback whatsoever, considering that I have more credentials. We submitted our resumes 2 weeks ago. I wonder if I the HR has completely ignored my application.
Meimo,, I've applied at SLMC GC Cathedral Height few weeks ago, the guard only told me to give him my resume and my professional license (not including my TOR, picture).... you said that I should include photocopy of my TOR, picture, and board rating? How come that guard never told us, all of us only submitted our resume and photocopy of our license... ahhhh. do you think we should apply again? that guard.. grrrrrrr.. hehee
Waiting is suffering, hope this suffering will give us the road to success. You know what, I've already applied to so many hospitals, I don't even have a call from them. i hope st. lukes will text/call me .. I feel like I am a useless graduate. niyahahah. huhuhuhu but its true. I can't find any self satisfaction just being in a call center or MT company. Even if you have money, self satisfaction is not there. I am a nurse and in order to be happy and self-fulfilled, I believe I should work within my chosen field and that's "NURSING". feels like everyone is looking at me if I can make it or not. Oh st. Lukes. pleaseee.. huhuhuhu.
The guard only told us to give him our resume and license photocopies, he said that the rest requirements will be need after the interview. It's been two weeks since the day I've applied still no call from SLMC GC HR.
Guys, did you only gave your resume and license photocopy to the guard on duty? not including your TOR, board ratings?
I filled up their application form and then stapled my resume and license photocopy and that's it.. they said to wait within 2 weeks...
HELLPPP!!!!

Hi - please bring your resume, photocopy of TOR, board certification of passing and a 1x1 picture to the Cathedral Heights Building - 16th floor room 1605. That's across the Main Hospital at SLMC - QC. The attending guard will give you an application form to fill up then after that - you will pass it to him and wait for the call from the HR department.
Dress appropriately because even when submitting resumes the guards take note of your attire and how you relate to them. If you seem arrogant and rude they may refer you back to the HR and you may not get that call.
Nurses with or without experience are all accommodated but as for the selection - that's entirely up to the HR department and Division of Nursing to determine.
As for the probationary period - yes those who do make it to that point will be kept at SLMC-QC till Global opens. It may take long for the absorption period but from the looks of the construction site as of July 2008 - they may reach their target date.
You can google 'First Balfour St Luke's Global City' and it will redirect you to the main site of the construction company that has images as of July 2008. The basic foundations have already been laid but the finishing process - I believe - will take up the bulk of the time alloted.
