still no calls...
follow ups do help but don't do it too often because those HR people hate too much follow ups. when i was taking the IQ test of st lukes in the HR office alone, i heard an HR staff answer a call. when the call ended, i heard her say in an irritated tone that she's going to make the interview for the person who called difficult because he keeps on following up, its annoying her. let me just say this once again: st luke's-GC HR sucks big time! its has been 2 weeks since i passed the test and i still don't have a schedule for my initial interview. i'll wait for a month before going there for a follow up again.

still no calls...
hi! why don't you try going to st. luke's to follow up on your application. the same thing happened to me. i decided to personally go to st lukes to follow up on my application when i didn't receive any feedback from them after a month of submitting my resume. i went there in the morning then they asked for my name and the date i submitted my resume. after waiting for almost 2 hours, the found my resume. i even took the IQ test alone on the same day. the HR staff informed me that i passed and that i should expect a call for the initial interview. unfortunately, it has been a little over a week since i passed the IQ test and i still haven't heard from them. sorry but i think that the HR staff of st luke's should try to make the hiring process more systematic. i understand that there are a lot of applicants but if things were more systemtic, then evrything would work out more smoothly. you see, my friend and i submitted our resumes together on the same day and time. my friend got a call a week after our submission while they only took a look at my resume when i went to them. my friend is already hired while i am still waitin for my initial interview schedule. their HR sucks!

Return to Nursing to Saudi for the money
Hi I'm thinking of Saudi as an option too due to retrogression but my classmate who already works as a nurse in Jeddah told me not to consider saudi. According to her, Jeddah is not a nice place to live in and her male patients always make moves on her. She said that if u want constant sexual harassment, then Saudi is the place to be. she regrets going to Saudi and would not recommend it to anyone. anyone who had more positive experiences?

Tourist visa or Immigrant visa????
hi! i have heard of people going to the states using a tourist visa to look for an employer and they end up working legally after a few months because they were able to obtain either a work permit or a working visa. these people i know of don't even have any work experience in the philippines but ended up finding jobs and working legally in the states. i know someone who is in the states right now (tourist visa) and she was able to sign a contract with a hospital. however, the hospital's lawyer told her to come back here to the philippines because the congress is currently not issuing work permits until the end of the elections.

Good News for NEW ZEALAND
i know someone who's a 2nd courser who just this year went to NZ to work as a nurse. is NZ's rejection of 2nd coursers a recent trend? maybe they don't have a policy against 2nd coursers and the ones who were rejected were just unlucky..

New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand
Thank you so much for your reply aelith! If I took the one year course only, is it possible to get a graduate visa after finishing the course and work during my 18 month stay there? I have also heard of Pinoys taking up units only and not the entire course there. Is that possible to work as an RN? What are the first steps to take to study in Oz? Sorry for the many questions I'm just really clueless about this.

Thanks so much for the reply aelith! Is it possible to get a graduate visa after finishing the 1 year course then work part time during my 18month extended stay there? I have also heard of nurses taking up units and not the entire degree to be able to work as a nurse in Oz. Is this possible? My mom is already bugging to study in Oz. What are the first steps that I should take to study there? I'm really clueless. I'm interested in Brisbane since you said its cheaper.

anyone here applied for SLMC-GC???
NURSERUBY1206: is it ok to call the HR? don't they hate follow ups? MIGHTGUY: i passed my resume together with my board rating and GWA. These are actually requirements for their QC branch which you can apply for at the main bldg. At first I submitted my requirements at the main building because i was unaware of the application at the cathedral heights bldg. but after a long wait, the nursing dept of the QC branch contacted me and told me to bring my resume to the cathedral heights bldg. That's what I did. I didn't know they needed a photocopy of my license. My friend and I submitted the same requirements on the same day at the same time to the guard. She got a text but i didn't even if i have more credentials.

New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand
Hi Aelith! I'm also interested in enrolling in a pre-registered nursing degree and have a several questions regarding taking up those degrees: 1. How much do they normally cost? 2. Where do most Pinoys taking up the degrees live? 3. What is the schedule of classes like? Would the schedule / work load in school permit me to work while studying? Thank you so much for being so helpful regarding this topic. Hope you don't mind answering my questions. I'm just REALLY clueless.

anyone here applied for SLMC-GC???
^^ I don't think they temporarily stopped accepting applicants for their Global City branch. My friend just took the IQ test yesterday (Sept2) together with 14 other applicants. I'm really worried though because I submitted my resume together with that friend who took the test. She received a text message from the HR dep't. while I didn't get any feedback whatsoever, considering that I have more credentials. We submitted our resumes 2 weeks ago. I wonder if I the HR has completely ignored my application.

Help Pls...ca Nclex Passer Without Ssn
I'm just wondering why some say that a person cannot endorse w/o a license number. i got really confused by this because when i emailed the texas board of nursing, they clearly stated that i fill up the ENDORSEMENT form, not the examination form. i know of a nurse who also didn't have a license number but got a texas license via endorsement. i emailed vermont BON and they told me to download the endorsement/examination form. i chose vermont over texas because they don't have much requirements. i only had to submit the letter from CA-BON and fill up some parts of the application form and in less than i week, i already have a license number on their website.
