to RAINE, hey raine. uhmm hi, just wana ask some questions regarding your resume. Coz I think it's a great deal with us nurses what to put on our 'CLINICAL EXPERIENCE' column. my question is what did you put there raine? I mean what did you just wrote on your clinical experience? do you think its enough to just put on my hospital affiliates/and special areas I've been assigned during my college days? here;s one example of what im tryin to ask. this is just an example ok?

______________________________________________________________

Example #1:

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE (as a student)

Saint Lukes Medical Center: Emergency room, Operating Room, Pediatric Ward, Delivery Room

Makati Medical Center: Emergency room, Operating room, Intensive Care Unit.

Capitol Medical Center: Operating Room, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Emergency room.

______________________________________________________________

Or maybe its better to put what did we learned and the skills we gained during our college stays? here's one example.

______________________________________________________________

Example #2:

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

Saint Lukes Medical Center:

(student nurse): Emergency room, Operating Room, Pediatric Ward, Delivery Room

>Gives Medications and Checked Vital Signs

>Assisted in the Delivery of Newborn Child (NSD/Cesarean)

>Assisted in Administration of Enema

>Assisted in Administration of NGT's

>Delivers Health Teachings and Discharge Patient Care plan.

______________________________________________________________

I've reviewed my resume and I find it awkward just to put my hospital affiliates and areas. I think it's better if we did put on our skills learned during college days. hmmmmmm. Now for you raine, when you passed your resume did you put your skills and experienced gained during your college days? Honestly I've applied at SLMC-GC, wherein I found out that what I've passed is my old resume 'Example #1", guys do you think example #1 is enough? if then not, then I should reapply having my revised resume with all the skills I have...:banghead::cool:

I would really like to be on st Lukes:loveya:

hi guyz.. dont lose hope.. they will surely call.. just want to share my experience. i passed my resume last week of june, i was interviewed initially july 23.. see, it's been a month before i was scheduled for an initial interview.. after the initial interview, HR personnel told me to give them 2-3 weeks to call or send a message.. after 3 weeks of waiting, i pursued a job here in our province because I thought SLMC-GC would not call anymore.. but I was wrong, they texted me august 21 inviting me for a technical interview on august 27.. since Im already working as a nurse trainee here in our province, I requested an off for that day..

and so i was interviewed last wed, and i passed! im already done also with my medical, il go there on monday to know the results and pass the other requirements.. :nurse:

God is always Good!

hello ianjel,

congratulations! :yeah:I just finished my initial interview, i got a good feedback from the HR who conduct the interview. Just in case I got a call back for a technical interview, can you share what topics or kind of questions they ask you? Hope you post your respose. I already read lots of post regarding this question and it seems to me like nobody wants to share thier experiences when it comes to technical part.

anyway do you know when will be the start of your training? congratulations again! I appreciate you sharing your story

might guy,

my resume was quite simple. i just put the month, year and name of the hospital where i conduct my clinical experience. no need to indicate there the departments of each hospital, i mean they know that as a student nurse we are required to be rotated in all the departments. i think it would just eat the space in your resume. if you are a fresh graduate they know that what you had right now was your rle duty experiences. try not to dwell more on your clinical rotation and make another column for your skills and concentrate more on that.

with regards to skills do not put vital signs or medicine administration, that's basic it's not a skill! give emphasis on the modalities you know how to operate, knowledge you acquire from the trainings you've attended if any.enumerate the procedures you're good at and highlight your achievements.

hope this help :nurse:

I got a good feedback too from the HR personnel when I was interviewed initially and she told me to study from the moment I leave the room since the technical interview will be very tough.

The technical interview will be a panel interview also. Meaning, it's either you will be the best or worst among your co-interviewees.. :clown: it will be better if you will win the criteria of the interviewers.. All you need is bunch of confidence! hehe.. remember little anxiety is okay but dont let your anxiety puts you down:no:, remember to smile and relax when it's your time to answer the question.. the questions are essay-type, I mean the two nurses will throw situations and will ask you what are you going to do with those situations.. but the whole interview will focus on core competencies of nurses.. :D

the key there is not only to answer the questions right but also to answer with confidence and in straight english.. :p

I'm just wondering, after you have passed the institution's criteria and after trained for 3 months (assuming the training will start at September and ends in November), I'm guessing the accepted trainees will be working at the Quezon City branch of SLMC. You would be considered a probationary employee, right? So how long would you be on probation? As long as you haven't been deployed to the Global City branch or for just 6 months? I mean, would you be included in the nurse's roster in a particular floor or area as long as Oct. 2009 comes? The nurses for SLMC-GC would be floaters for the moment? I'm just wondering though...

Sorry for asking too many questions. I just wanted to clarify some things.

Thanks!!!

Thanks!

Core competencies, confidence and fluency; wow thanks ianjel! :yeah: do nurses with hopital experience have an advantage? You see I don't have any!:( In your opinion how do you rate the difficulty level of the questions?

I appreciate you're response, thank you and congratulations! :nurse:
