how was it? can you share your experiences? I heared there's a height requirement? Did they already pick applicants that are for training?
^^ I don't think they temporarily stopped accepting applicants for their Global City branch. My friend just took the IQ test yesterday (Sept2) together with 14 other applicants. I'm really worried though because I submitted my resume together with that friend who took the test. She received a text message from the HR dep't. while I didn't get any feedback whatsoever, considering that I have more credentials. We submitted our resumes 2 weeks ago. I wonder if I the HR has completely ignored my application.
I think what I've posted is applicable for those who passed their resume this September. You said you passed your resume last August, right? Those who applied then might be included in the October training. Or maybe in the next training schedule. You might call up the HR if you like.
Good luck!!
Vanessa, I've submitted my application 2 weeks ago, ( same as you). still I don't receive any call/text from the HR. What did you gave to the guard Van? only your resume and PRC license photocopy? the guard said be ready for the interview within 2 weeks and then he smiled at (hmmmm something is wrong with that smile, hahaha). ahhhhh. I can't stand the wait....
I think the hiring for SLMC-GC is still ongoing.. In fact the guy ahead of me yesterday was just a walk-in applicant, and he was interviewed right after he submitted his resume..Anyway.. How true is it that their contract is for 5 years?
The hiring for SLMC-GC is still ongoing... but the hospital also needs other medical professionals. When I passed my resume, other professionals (like Med Techs and PTs) were interviewed right away (even if they weren't in their business attire). Correct me if I'm wrong, though.:)
NURSERUBY1206: is it ok to call the HR? don't they hate follow ups?
MIGHTGUY: i passed my resume together with my board rating and GWA. These are actually requirements for their QC branch which you can apply for at the main bldg. At first I submitted my requirements at the main building because i was unaware of the application at the cathedral heights bldg. but after a long wait, the nursing dept of the QC branch contacted me and told me to bring my resume to the cathedral heights bldg. That's what I did. I didn't know they needed a photocopy of my license. My friend and I submitted the same requirements on the same day at the same time to the guard. She got a text but i didn't even if i have more credentials.
Hello all :) It isn't true that they've stopped hiring. The process of application and screening has just changed for nurses. The wait will probably take longer too [3-4 weeks] as the HR is screening hundreds of RNs every week. For other professions such as Medical Technologists and Physical Therapists - the wait is around 3 days because of the low volume of applicants.
Perhaps the walk-in who was interviewed right away was applying for a nurse assistant position? Potential nurse assistants are usually interviewed right away or after a few days as well.
As for the 5 year contract...that's news to me too! I haven't heard of a hospital that has such a long contract! If someone could clarify that would be great. :)
Awst.. Right! Probably the walk-in applicants are not nurses.
Some says, the contract is just for 2 years..
I happened to talk to a group of 4 yesterday while waiting for Ms. Gigi, they were placed in probationary status because 3 of them mentioned during the technical interview that they're willing to work for SLMC for about 2-3 years.. The other one placed his an NCLEX passer in his resume (tut.. tut..) After their talk with Ms. Gigi, they were told that the final decision will be coming from the VP of GC, they just have to wait for their call. That's when they told me about this 5 years contract, which really confuses me as well - this is way too long!

When you say probationary status --- do you mean that they were not immediately accepted for training after their technical interview? :) I'm a little confused with the terms because probationary is also the term used for the status the nurse shall be in after the 3 month training period.
I'm assuming that they were screened by the panel and were then told to wait for the final decision by the VP of the Division of Nursing if they will be accepted or not. :)
The mere mentioning of the NCLEX raises eyebrows especially amongst the HR and Division of Nursing. It is their right to eliminate or place applications on hold when they feel that the nurse may not have the commitment to stay with the company. It says a lot about a person's work ethics, I think.
I seriously doubt the 5-year contract but if anyone can contact the HR and clarify it would be good. :)
Hi,Just wondering if St. Lukes- Global City is still hiring? I heard kasi closed na raw... Do you have any idea if this is true?

Hello, they are still hiring as far as I know. You can call St. Luke's to verify :) Their number should be listed in the yellow pages or on their website.

I'm not too sure about the temporary halt in hiring of St. Luke's Global City but I can clarify that with them and post their reply here as soon as I know.
As for the necessary requirements - I think what they asked you guys to pass are all that's needed. If they didn't ask for a few other things it doesn't mean they won't be screening you. :) Let's not get ahead of ourselves. :)
